I haven't seen the video but if it's anything like Zambrano/Barrett, Sampson has a vag. I don't care if he's a rookie, you don't disrespect a teammate like that in public. You think Wheeler would have shoved Biggio or one of the elders on the team in the same situation? Heck no...cause he would get his ass beat.
http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/...t_id=2025325&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou There's the shove. Doesn't looks good.
out of proportion. this was sampson coming to tell him, "no big deal." he caught wheeler at the wrong time and wheeler shoved him..told him to get away. sampson did just that, knowing it wasn't a good time. these guys are friends. i've been frustrated as hell with friends before...to the point of pushing...but i've always apologized and gotten the, "eh, it's no big deal" thing back. the ironic thing is, i think it's less likely he shoves biggio, as you state, because he's not close to biggio, personally. mountain out of molehill. you can almost see the instantaneous regret in wheeler's eyes and he tells kinda throws his hands up and tells sampson to get away.
Have you ever pushed a friend in the heat of the moment/drunk and apologized? If you did, you are not a good friend. Friends don't fight with friends...period.
Have you shoved a friend? I'm not talking about in a joking manner. I'm talking about in an angry pissed off manner. It doesn't matter who you were pissed off at, did you put your hands on a friend? I wouldn't never let anger out on a friend. Is this normal? I must be sheltered.
I can't remember a specific incident where I have, but I have been in some very over the top shouting matches that were basically no different than shoving someone. I've also kicked a friend's door in one night after he had pissed me off. I guess even though I've known the guy for 21 years, we're not good friends. Dude was frustrated at himself and took it out on the first person he saw. There is nothing to this. I've seen this done at practice or in the locker room when I played basketball. The only reason we're discussing this is because it happened in the dugout. That doesn't mean it's a big deal.
So, you're saying you would let anger out on a friend? Welcome to normalcy. I've never seen any set of friends where they didn't get angry at one another at one point.
I can understand Wheeler's frustration, but I'd rather see him toss a water cooler around than use one of our pitcher's as a punching bag.
I'd offer you my slingbox feed....(which I was about to do in this post...) But I just noticed it's not running at the moment.
This is NOT a good sign. We desperately needed to win yesterday's game. Hopefully Lance brings some pop back to the lineup; we're going to need it.
yeah. i have. i was having a very bad day. a friend slapped me on the back. i was sunburned. i turned around and shoved him. i felt bad about it. i said i'm sorry. he said no biggie. that was about 15 years ago...and we're still friends. i'm not suggesting you SHOULD be shoving anyone. you shouldn't. but people make mistakes. color me a bad friend. but it doesn't matter what you think of it. it matters what sampson thinks of it. he says it's not a big deal. time to move on.
