This is just too much drama, ain't it?

Welcome to the Harlem Globetrotters, Ronnie.

Luckily I traded him for Gerald Wallace before all of this started. He went on the trading block right after he shaved "TruWarrior" on the back of his head. That was the writing on the wall for me.

Why? He is a clause in the contract and said "no".

Your theory about buy out- is just that- a theory. The Pacers now are in a terrible situation- they revealed their hand! Artest for Peja, come on that deal was screwed up to begin with.

I am glad that it is not Sacramento! Will Houston bite? I dont think so- but that would be a good basketball acquisition- just my opinion.

He is absolutely unique. It's sad to see a talent like him go to waste.

Seriously, if there was ever a time for David Stern to flex his dictator muscles, this is it. He needs to give Artest two options - accept a trade (no matter where his new team is located) or have his contract voided and be blacklisted from the league.

To say Indiana hasn't supported Artest through all of his problems is ridiculous. Any other team would have traded him before this season, but Indiana stuck with him and had nothing but positive things to say about him to the press (including a glowing cover story for SI). Artest rewards their loyalty by doing everything in his power to screw them.

The league needs to blacklist him.

Why? He isn't doing anything that hasn't been done before (refusing to report to a traded team...see Mourning last year). The only difference is the Kings found out before hand and nixed the trade.

I wonder if the union would allow a suspension without pay...

    what the hell?

i'd have to disagree, wholeheartedly... WTF first of all if david stern tried to pull some kinda dictator shizzle i'd lose all respect for him.. players not wanting to be traded to a certain team(tmac saying 'ill only resign longterm with rockets) or be drafted to a certain team(eli manning) is not uncommon and 'special' treatment to artest would be extremely unfair... just not right.

second of all PACERS only stuck by artest after the brawl becaues artest is THAT GOOD.. if he was a crap bench player they wouldn't of done the same thing.. the same reason alot of teams are interested in trade scenarios DESPITE the brawl.. he's just that good... basically the pacers were on his nuts.. dont make the pacers look like some angelic good samaritan.. they had their own interests.

OK so he made a mistake of asking to be traded publicly instead of privately.. obviously this ticked off the pacers, so what'd they do? they made a deliberate effort to show him and the rest of the world who's boss.. taking their sweet time working on their clock, not allowing artest to step foot on the floor ASAP. in the process it pissed everyone else off in the NBA, stalling the trade movement.. ron tried to made up and they didnt want any of it.. fair enough... some marriages just aren't meant to be.. and the pacers did not give an inche of ground to artest.. so when the trade went down. artest did the same. he's looking at his own interests as well.. u cant blame anyone single party for this.. everyones at fault and just doing what they can to get what they want.. artest owes NOTHING to the PACERS same way they dont owe him anything.. they turned his back on him.. all that history is pretty meaningless at this point... and ill say it again, only reason they were behind his back when they were, is cause they were on his nuts.. thats why..

    What a mess.

    Doesn't really surprise me.

Please don't let this nut job near the Rockets.

Ditto. This kid needs to be booted out of the league. He clearly hasn't learned his lesson from the brawl and is out to piss the league off and play his egomaniac mind games.

The guy is clinically 'disturbed', that's all I am going to say. Great talent? Absolutely! A true headcase unlike anything the league has ever seen? Yup.

SAC - IND Trade is OFF, Rockets still got a chance

Since the trade is called off, do you think the Rockets stepped up, and are really making a run for Artest

why da helllllllllllllll is everyone tryna set him up to be the NBA LOSER/OUTCAST?

    cause he's an easy target?

he made one big boo boo and the rest were relatively minor and routine in the NBA.. its not ridiculous at all for someone to have a say in where they'll be relocated for their job.. especially if its cross country..

While I would have taken him last month, today I wouldn't give you Moochie and his old hair clippings for Ron.
