Jim gray reported that the kings have rejected the deal because Artest does not want to play in sac town. Stephen A. Smith said he spoke to sources very close to artest and that he has no desire to be in sacramento and then jim gray reported the deal was dead. Very interesting to say the least
In this case its much different because sacramento has rejected the trade, which did not happen with the rockets-magic swap
no, that trade actually went down. It's pretty obvious that Artest is making this personal. He wants to screw the Pacers over and collect a paycheck, now. It will probably end up biting him in the ass later on...
It's strictly an Artest provision. It states something to the effect of, "I'm so batsh*t crazy, I could retire and pursue a job in the music industry or retail at any moment."
This nutcase needs to be blacklisted from the league, period! I hope Houston stays the f*** away from him, what a freakin' idiot! This is the same guy that said he would ok with whatever the Pacers management decides to send him, now he is changing his mind? I have a theory, and it goes something like this: Artest doesn't want to play basketball anymore, but he won't just retire and walk away so he wants to force teams into a buyout of his contract (whatever is left on it) so he can get his money. Seriously, I do think that's what he's trying to do. His value on the market after this now has reached below zero...Indiana will be lucky to get a bag of chips for him.
Wow, you gotta pity the Pacers. On one hand, I have a small hope that Artest might still become a Rocket. Then I think I must be as crazy as Ron-Ron. Artest should have provided a list of teams he would or would not report to. Granted, his agent probably shouldn't have presented such (a) list(s), given how badly Artest has f****d himself (over and over). Problem is, Artest's situation has made it impossible for other trades to go down.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if the team tries to tear up Artest's contract. Some insubordination clause or something. The new CBA gives teams a lot more power to fine guys, so at the very least, he ain't getting anymore checks. Indiana will end up with nothing, but what other choice do they have.
you know i dont blame him pacers went out of their way to F*** artest over.. so artest did the same.. ron said from the beginning he'd prefer to get on the east coast, and pacers obviously did this just to piss him off.. on top of that its obvious they been taking their time on the trade just to annoy him just because they could.. they were tryna send a message of who's boss and now its just a power struggle.. i dont blame him at all.. its a pride thing.. aside from sticking next to him after the brawl, when this whole trade thing went down, pacers have equally been a jerk to him.. i will reserve my sympathy elsewhere
Dang, and I was getting pumped to see Artest do his thang whatever that is It should be interesting to listen to the coverage of both of these teams local tv stations (NBA League Pass is free for this week). They both play games that start in about a half hour...
