Good news is, Cleveland has clinched the division. Meaning a possible let down for a few days may allow the Stros to make up some ground.
They're trailing in the 6th, 2-1 -- but will probably rally. Mariners aren't leading, so at least there's that.
Jose LeClerc is in cahoots with the Mariners. He's blown every game I've seen him pitch against them.
everyone loves the home run, but there's nothing better than dink and dunk baseball - absolutely demoralizing for the opposing pitcher.
So we're either trying to be 3 games or 1 game behind Cleveland by next Friday. Certainly we need to sweep the Angels. Let's say Cleveland loses either tonight or tomorrow. That's a 4 1/2 game lead. I can't see them doing any worse than a split of the 2 game Reds series. If it's a split and we sweep the Mariners, that gets us to 3 games and in control of our destiny for the second bye. So the only way we get it to a 1 game deficit by Friday (obviously much more preferable) is Cleveland loses its next 4 games and we win the next 5 games.
Anybody understand why flipnuts is having Blanco throw 120 pitches tonight with a 6 run lead? These decisions really aren't difficult. They're really not.
