I think in the last few games abreau seems to be hitting the ball better. He barely missed a home run today and had the right fielder snag one at the wall couple of games ago. Hopefully him and montero are turning it around and we all look like morons for doubting dusty. Best case scenario
I really only recall one time he has had a go ahead RBI or home run against us. Can someone better with the stat sites pull up lifetime stats and "clutch" stats for him?
I recall one maybe two game-winning HRs in the late innings (perhaps a walk-off) but those were 5+ years ago Knock on wood for his continued un-success
140 games vs Houston overall: 252 .383 .511 .895, 30 2B, 29 HR 67G at MMP: .209 .344 .440 .784, 11 2B, 13 HR *disclaimer* This post is in no way a jinx or tease of the Baseball Gods
Thanks for the disclaimer.... Its no surprise that Trout/Judge don't strike fear in any Houston baseball fan based on their history here (and in the playoffs for Judge). Its also likely that neither player is going to go out of their way to adjust their approach to one specific team, when their stuff works against the rest of the league the majority of the time... but clearly the nerd cave's scouting report has paid for itself.
Anaheim, where former ballplayers become managers and get old and fat looking (Scioscia, Nevin). Also, I didn't realize until recently that Joe Maddon had four different stints as Angels manager, three times interim manager from 1996 - 1999, and then full time manager 2020- 2022. I always thought his first managerial experience was in Tampa.
I think he hit one at 112 this year. He can still hit the ball hard. His issue last year was launch angle and this year he developed a hitch in his swing. I think he is swinging more regularly now so hopefully he turns it around. We will see.
