What's the better lineup? Last Saturday they gave one of their worst hitters (unfortunately that's Yordan right now) the night off but started the two guys everyone wants to see (Vazquez and Mancini). The bench replacement JJ had the only RBI. Put Yordan in this Saturday instead of JJ and that's the starting 9 for the playoffs aside from alternating catchers.
Ohtani is going to be tough regardless of lineup, but I sure would like to give it our best shot: Altuve Pena Yordan Bregman Tucker Vasquez Mancini McCormick Hensley
And we did not get beaten by Ohtani, did we? We got beat by their reliever after Dubon replaced Mancini.
Dubon did his job in extra innings moving Vazquez to 3rd with zero outs. The guy @Hemingway wants in the lineup then hit into a double play that Vazquez for some reason didn't break for home.
I dislike California teams in general. Particularly former NY teams which relocated out of NY. But NY, CH and LA are always at the top of my least liked teams with Cubs well above the rest.
Urquidy has been pitching like an ace for his last dozen or so starts. Not that it matters much, but Urquidy is rocking a 1.00 ERA against the Angels this year.
I must admit to sleeping through most of it and waking up right after it. I can't even make it through east coast games now and I struggled with a 3PM start. I wish I were awake at game time like I am in the middle of the night.
WE have such a luxury of pitching that we want to trade away. I'm not against a good trade, but we tend to undervalue what we have when dealing from strength. Seven starting pitchers deserve to be in the playoffs and there's only room for four. (ACLS excepted) That means 3 playoff caliber starting pitchers won't get to do what they are best at.
Nah, I'd like Click to take Dubon away from Dusty's options in the postseason by not having him on the roster but then who's the backup CF?
Dubon is a good player. And he's a very valuable player. Dusty just uses him incorrectly. He should be the 26th man on the bench starting no more than 3-4 times per month. He plays average or better defense at 6 positions and puts the bat on the ball. That is VERY valuable and allows the team to keep more bat first, positionally limited guys like Mancini, Matijevic ( theoretically), or Yanier Diaz.
I can't wait for the Tigers series to watch Hunter Brown pitch against the worst offense in baseball.
