Javier cant go back to the pen after these past 2 starts. Either jake gets traded, or we do something with mcullers who has honestly been a disappointment since he signed that extension. Plus lance has never really been healthy throughout his career, so lowering his usage might do the team some good, right now the astros pitching staff is reminding me of circa 2005
mcullers is injury prone and has proven he cant pitch heavy innings throughout his career. I'd honestly look to trade him
Yet, you're dodging why he's a disappointment when he signed the contract extension back in March 2021.
Did Javier just set an MLB record for most consecutive innings with at least 2 strikeouts with 12 (and counting)?
McCullers getting injured is your definition of him being "disappointing"? He was on the verge of leading us to a WS title until braindead Dusty Baker forced him to pitch on 3 days rest and blow out his arm.
bottomline lance is injury prone and very inconsistent, let him have a few starts when he comes back and sell high if he pitches well before he breaks down again. Lance was injury prone long before dusty got here
At this point the only concern with Javier is spacing out his innings so he doesn't throw too many before October. Him going back to the pen outright is off the table. He is completely untouchable right now.
