Javier needs to be in the rotation. At worst, he is the 3rd best starter on the team right now behind Verlander and Garcia.

Would love to wake up to a "Astros DFA Odorizzi" tomorrow.

But Click might just give him an extension instead.

I’m more frustrated at the thought of whether the 2021 salaries of Odorizzi/Baez/Verlander dead money, could have been replaced by somebody who may have been a difference maker in the World Series.

The Odorizzi signing is also only possible if you’re a mid-market (or higher) team… which is extra frustrating when it doesn’t work out as it’s not the type of skill set you value in a GM from Tampa’s system.

The offense told Jake Odorizzi to hold my beer.

What in the world. The offense is absolutely pathetic.

Click is an incredibly frustrating GM.

Toronto is going to light us up this weekend. Geezus.

The biggest shock is that we've had 41 at bats with RISP. With how dismal the bats has been it really doesn't feel like we've gotten men on period, let alone in scoring position.

Long season. But this team clearly has pitching issues. Buuut we also have offensive issues. One would think most players will sort it out at the plate and maybe now is when they get their bad run out of thr way. But I don’t know. Maybe Correa leaving did a job on the morale of the team.

Listening to his recent interviews, he sounds like somebody who legitimately wants to help our team and he is frustrated that he isn't getting the job done. But you can't average giving up a run per inning and allow multiple baserunners per inning. Not letting him off the hook, but it's not like our offense is getting on base either, let alone scoring. But, his performances have gotten so bad that whenever he starts I just expect a loss. This isn't the result of being spoiled over the last few years. He has just been that terrible.

**** in one hand, hope in another…

    https://www.mlb.com/news/jake-odorizzi-struggles-with-command-vs-angels

Despite struggling over his last two starts, Astros manager Dusty Baker said Odorizzi would remain in the starting rotation.

“It’s only been two starts,” Baker said. “That would be the shortest leash in history. Hopefully, his next start, he’ll be better.”

Their record should be 8-4, Dusty load management in the 4th game in LA and the loss with the "ghost runner" in extra innings. It happens. But what can't continue to happen is Jake keeping his spot which he never earned. Javier needs to start. Heard Dusty on 790 say Javier is too valuable as a long reliever. I think Odo should be the ling reliever thought that last year.
And if Xavi is too valuable there then make the A's an offer they can't refuse for a pitcher.

Has any of Click’s moves been beneficial yet? Most of the team is still Luhnow’s.
