Maybe I am wrong but I feel like Meyers is the better player. Chas is a k machine and hasnt had much pop in that huge uppercut swing lately.
I don't get it either. Chas is an excellent 4th OF and you have to get him some ABs to keep him fresh, but still.
I think Dusty is big on “earning your spot.” Chas was the next man up after Straw, and he won’t lose that precedence because he got hurt. I suspect Dusty actually thinks he’s already bending the unwritten rules by letting Meyers alternate. I don’t agree with it, but I imagine the clubhouse would support the alternating approach. And the two are close enough in production that it won’t make a major difference for the rest of the regular season.
Oh, just play the Death Star lineup every night. Depth and playing time for bench guys is over rated.
