This team has been nothing more than a .500 team for the past 40 or so games. Very troubling going into the postseason.
.500 ain't so bad sometimes. In the 2017 playoffs the Astros went 6-6 in their final 12 playoff games and it won them a World Series, so no worries.
Just to let you know, my lazy friend, the Stros are 4th from last in OPS by catchers. Know who's first? Of course you don't, it's the Giants. Know what they're last at? Of course you don't. They're 21st at 2B and 23rd in LF. Nobody's perfect.
The team seems incapable of stringing a significant winning streak together so hopefully they can at least string series wins together to close out the year.
Didnt realize I was asking for perfection. Again, he’s hitting .170. He strikes out more than 1 outta 3. He is definitely not above criticism. Thats what this was about. However, nobody is asking for anything close to perfection from Maldy.
I never said or implied anything of the sort, nor that he was above criticism, just that the criticism might be a bit misdirected.
Huh... Chas: the last 107 PAs (34G, 24 GS) before he went on the Covid IL: .302 .355 .448 .803 (he's been back for 1 week now) Jake: the 101 PAs (30 G, 22 GS) since he got called up: .302 .327 .490 .816
