Equally amazing is Pujols fall from MVP candidate to mere mortal to unplayable. What do those look like when he was in StL? Pujols only had 1 .800 OPS season with the Angels, and it was his first year. What’s even more crazy is that his career OPS is still >.900, despite not achieving that mark in his 10 year Angels tenure.
Cardinals Pujols was the baddest mf-er to face the Astros outside of Barry Bonds. Angels Pujols? Not so much.
2002-2011 with the Cardinals: 369 PA .322 .393 .574 .967 2012-2021 with the Angels: 252 PA .209 .286 .364 .650 They remember his time with the Cardinals. Angels Pujols is irrelevant since the Angels are the Angels
Classic example on why you don't 30+ year olds more than 5-6 year contracts. 10 year contracts should be reserved for younger than 26. No length of contract should take a player beyond 35-36.
Albert Pujols is a US Citizen and score a perfect score on his citizenship test. Get your ignorant, racist innuendos back onto ONN or at least to the D&D.
Pujols was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States in 1996. Bravo for becoming naturalized. This is not uncommon for Latin American players. A "younger age" gives them a leg up on the competition since they are more mature than their competitors and scouts take notice. But you know that I'm sure. And any age advantage goes away quickly as talent takes over in the early 20s. But the age is always suspect unless well documented.
Yeah, I saw his "sense of humor' in the D&D. I'd prefer to keep it there. But, that's what the block button is for.
After last season, and considering his age, I thought Yuli was finished. In 22 less games, he already has six more walks, six more rbi than last season, and the same number of home runs. His batting average is hundred points higher and his ops is three hundred points higher, so far. Hope the comeback year continues.
This is how McCormick should be used. He raked LHP in the minors. 2019 vs lefties .321 AVG, .418 OBP, 1.007 OPS
