Good job Astros. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Angels fans have to feel about the Astros the same way Astros fans feel about the Rangers.
It's a little less frustrating for Angels fans considering they're not in the hunt for anything, and there isn't a in-state rivalry. Part of what makes getting owned by the Rangers this season so frustrating is they're freaking Dallas. **** Dallas
9 more games. While we're messing up the Yankees next series (speaking of, that'd be a great time to trade for Miller or Chapman and just have them change clubhouses) I hope Oakland plays them as tough as they've played us.
Red Sox, Jay's and Orioles also all won. At least we didn't lose any ground. Let's give the Yankees hell this week.
Good points. The only thing I will say is that when the Astros were in the National League, I remember feeling more of a rivalry with the Cardinals, than I do now with the Rangers. It could be that it's just me. It could also be that we seem to win more games against the Cardinals than we do against the Rangers. With the Rangers, I'm just at awe how many times we lose to them. It's pure disbelief. If we won half the time, I would probably feel like it was more of a rivalry. Either way, I would love to really catch and beat the damn Rangers. Part of it is definitely that they are in Dallas. I say that even though I no longer live in Houston.
What is more telling right now is that its clear that Dallas has no other rival in this division the than Houston. Even when the Astros/Cardinals were trading division titles, the Cardinals fans/city got far more excited for the Cubs games than any Astros game. This will end up as the more meaningful rivalry... and it will be a 2-way rivalry (which really should be a requisite for all rivalries).
Awesome win... and series!!! With 5 HRs today, Stros should jump 3 slots in MLB team totals. Blastros!!! ____ Quick word (city) association... Bregman - Giles - Arian Foster Spoiler Albuquerque...... they were all born there
Very true. I am friends with a die-hard Cubs fan, and we talk about our mutual rivalry with the Cards. You are right about Cards fans being amped up against the Cubs. I keep thinking the next series against the Rangers will get the ship righted. I've thought that for a couple of years, though. I really want to start getting our share of wins against those fools.
Next month is will be crazy. 25 of the next 29 games are against teams currently over .500. Hoping the Astros can keep up their current pace.
