Mostly bad luck, but you can't wait for the tying run to come to the plate to go to the closer.

Got the free tickets from comcast and had such a blast !
We sat on row 7 in 110. Crips I'm glad I started dialing into the Stros 7 weeks ago or so when Springer showed up. They're moving.

Yeah, my gf and I were at the game too. I had a blast, one of the more fun games I've been to.

The three games I've been to this season since I moved to the area 7 weeks ago, are more games than I've been to in a season in almost a decade.

So nice being able to drive 20 min to the ball park.

Astros win the series!! We might not be "good", but we definitely no longer suck. We'll be playoff contenders in 2 years.

    H-Town, baby!!

Chris Carter with 4 walks. Did I read the box score correctly? That has got to be a good sign. Let's hope he is more selective and ready to go on a power streak.

Took my family to the game for the first time in a few years. A couple of observations:

    • The Angels scored a run off a bad bounce... ball hit where the LF fence and warning track met and just died there.
    • The 'stros scored there first run with two swinging bunts.
    • The third base ump seemed to have it in for the 'stros. In fact, most of the calls seemed to go against the 'stros last night (close play at first, a few late pitch calls).
    • Wow... seeing three batters in the lineup with sub .200 BAs.
    • Springer has a nice arm. He also has a quick bat with pop. Seemed to overswing/lose pitches though. But easy to see how he is on the verge.
    • Singleton swings hard too. Surprised about his speed though. He's a keeper too.
    • Qualls seemed to be at a different level. Completely in command. I am sure they didn't want to bring him in to "save" a five-run lead in the ninth.

What call(s) did the third base umpire make that affected the Astros? Carter was clearly out on the steal. I don't recall any other plays at third that were close. There were no controversial check swings. Every call seemed to be the right one in the game and there were probably an even number of questionable ball/strike calls for each team.

The way the Astros are playing is making me regret the Lowrie trade a bit (I think it was a fine trade but I had my reservations even at the time). He would look pretty good slotted in this lineup.

Great game last night. My wife and I and a blast at the game. You can tell the city is starting to get behind the team.

    Go Stros!
