two starts you mean. ive been following lyles for a long time and have high hopes for him. lets just hope he lives up to them and can actually turn the corner
He's still 22. Outside of 3 bad starts, he's been damn good. Besides, Lyles isn't to blame. I picked him up on my fantasy team before the start against the cubs.
Heck, one inning. I wish the ump didn't blow strike calls that made 1-1 counts 2-0 accounts and forced Lyles to start grooving FBs.
The first 81 could've turned out much, much worse, if the pitching continued to be historically bad and if the offense continued to strike out at a historic pace. They played encouragingly well during a few stretches. This really does lead me to believe that the last 81 will be a much better stretch for the Astros. I'm thinking they'll be flirting with .500 the rest of the way. A 32-49 record in the final 81 games = 100 losses. That's a .395 winning percentage.
