SMH on the day Milton Friedman is just "another economist" to a con pusher... Palin-esque mediocrity is here to stay. Long live the above average Michael Scotts!
That's your own argument - that there are different thoughts, not mine. Which happen to refute your own earlier argument that UBI doesn't work, is r****ded, will ruin the economy and people would realize that if they have taken an economic course. I didn't read everything in this thread, but I can only remember one thing you said - run-away inflation. Is that you main point, or are there other points?
The fact that there are different schools of thought, doesn't actually argue that they are all true. You are constructing a fallacy. So no, I didn't refute myself. I explain my position clearly in this thread. If you are curious, read the posts near my name. I don't have time to teach you my views when I already spent time explaining them.
You did, but you didn't even realize it. But fine, let's move on. As for your post - I told you already that all I saw was hyper inflation (which wasn't convincing at all to me). Was that the only point or was there more to it? That's an easy yes or no even if you don't want to provide additional time explaining more.
There was a young white teenager sitting at the gym yesterday all day, skinny, but he was tall and could hoop. He offered to play me and my friends for $7 because he was hungry and had not eaten all day. I felt bad for him because he was clearly low energy, but still playing basketball. Outside of the few times he said he was hungry you would not know. He was not playing the sympathy card I think, dude just wanted to eat. Said his parents were poor. I could not tell if he was serious at first. I told him and everyone else there to vote for Yang, he wants to give you a thousand bucks a month. I am not used to seeing young white kids suffer like that. No offense to non-whites. Kids should be able to eat when they are hungry in America. He should not have to flip burgers at 15-16 just so he can eat.
Yang's moronic universal income plan gives no money to those already receiving $1K a month from the government. Its only for those not receiving government assistance. This 'starving white kid' probably already receives government benefits.
You cant assume that. But you know he would receive 1k in 1-2 years when he can and all his family/parents would too. Some people, especially lower-middle class whites have too much pride to apply for government assistance and view it as a sign of failure if they do.
we have a system for feeding starving people. Its called food stamps. If you think its inadequate, then increase the amount. the $1K universal income is not for that. Even Yang doesn't argue that's what its for. they should. not having any skill sets and not being able to provide for yourself is a shortcoming.
Google search says Yang says that you can keep your SNAP benefits but that would reduce your $1K per month to $1,000- $253.
Milton Friedman supported UBI as a replacement for government entitlement programs (something all austrian economists would probably support). not as a supplement. Uncle Milty would never support Yang's ****. Democrats have completely bastardized what Universal Income means. you aren't contradicting what I wrote.
I didn't refute myself by explaining that there are different schools of thought. You failed to establish that, so you are trying to gloss over it, or you really don't get it because you aren't that smart, so OK move on from it before I call you out some more for being wrong. In short, giving UBI will raise prices because goods, resources, housing, and everything you buy with money, has scarcity and value. That will go up if EVERYONE suddenly has 1,000 dollars to spend. Look at housing. This will mean rents will rise because landlords won't be afraid to do so and there will be more people suddenly able to afford their home. They will take advantage. All sellers of goods and services will know they can raise prices as well. This will increase prices, causing, you guessed it, the cost of living to increase in response to the new market conditions because of supply and demand. Then you will have to go and raise UBI because everyone will be spending more, and the process will repeat on an endless feedback loop. This is why UBI is r****ded and doesn't work. It creates a feedback loop which leads to inflation and eventually hyper inflation. It is destructive and dangerous, and a radical concept that I don't see working.
Uncut guys never want to get circumsized and they have the option. That should tell you everything you need to know. Also, in Africa they force circumcision on baby girls. If you support the idea of forced circumcision on men, then hmmmm....
If you want to snip your dick, go ahead. If you don’t, go ahead. Having informed choices apparently is bothersome to you? If elected, Yang said he wants to “inform parents that it is entirely up to them whether their infant gets circumcised, and that there are costs and benefits either way.” “The more choice we give parents, and the more we diminish the possible preconceptions or misinformation various parents are receiving, then the better off we’ll be as a society,” Yang said.
Thx for explaining your position against UBI is about hyper inflation. As I said before, not convincing to me.
Wait, i thought we wanted millenials to move out of their parents house and buy things. If rents go up, then more people will build apartment complexes and houses and it will cause more development because there is more profit in it. Over time it will even out if that happens. Currently, there is an over supply in housing in most areas. If housing goes up too much in some areas then people will just.....you guessed it.....move. And i am sure most cities do not want that unless that is really an issue. If someone tries to sell me a snickers bar for five dollars, I’m gonna walk out of the store and go open up a shop next-door to sell snickers bars for two dollars. People are not stupid.
