I know Jimmy, the last guy they showed that made it to Hollywood. He sang with some of the vocal ensembles at Texas State. He also won the Homecoming Talent Show in 2004. Dude can play some good piano too. Way to go Jimmy!!!
Man... the show is so much more interesting when you know the people personally. Bryan in the very beginning was a good guy. He owns a lawn service business in San Antonio. I heard him sing before the audition and he really rocked. What was caught on tape didn't do him justice. Neither of the cute white girls could really sing, they totally got in on looks. The shy black girl was really quiet throughout, we waited a total almost 6-8 hours, and she hardly spoke a word. I'm really glad Ashlyn got the second chance and made it. She has an awesome gospel voice, and I was in shock when she didn't come out with the golden ticket. As I was leaving, she was bawling her eyes out, and I tried to say some encouraging words. She deserved the second chance, and I'm really happy for her. I met a couple of other contestants at the audition, but I can't think of anything noteworthy to say about them now. As for me, I was shown in the background on 3 different occasions. Too bad, they didn't hear me talk smack about how AI is dissing Chinese people by over-exposing America with William Hung. It also would've been funny to see Simon say to me, "That was a terrible Freddie Mercury impersonation, and your choreography was appalling." Oh well. At least I now have proof that I was at the audition.
anybody else notice that he combined 2 songs? he said he was singing "Cupid", but mistakenly led into it with "Another Saturday Night". those are 2 different songs. he was good though
Yeah, I'd normally stop watching after the audition phase. But as long as I have a rooting interest in Jimmy, I'll keep watching.
I don't think it was a mistake. He seemed to segue quite naturally into Cupid. It made it a much more interesting presentation.
Apparently you won't be seeing her on TV again...at least not on AI. According to an AI website, the following incident kept her from going to Hollywood...
Hmm.. strange. Her facebook said that she was leaving for Hollywood in late November, then a few days later she said something to the extent of "American Idol was not meant to be this year, but this is just the beginning." Granted just saying that is enough to get you disqualified, but I believe she still was able to head out to Hollywood.
Did anyone catch the sign on tuesday. It said " SO and so ( I can't remember her name) ARE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL." Brilliant. She didn't make it, she cried and the family was cussing on the way out.
After complaining about Simon not being American and finding out he was British, they said. "He should go back to British."
Well, if you see Ashlyn again, then tell her she is a dumbass. She got the boot because she had a criminal record per an arrest for putting sugar in her ex-boyfriend's gas tank. I saw it on CNN earlier today. Good...now we don't have to watch her crazy faces while she sings.
Man, that kid on there tonight who was crying and freaking out about his mom not loving him looked really pathetic. Maybe he's gay and his mom can't accept it or something. Seemed a bit bizarre to me though.
