Man, The song choices sucked for the most part last night.....I kind of wish they would drop the themes sometimes and let the contestents just sing their kind of song. DD
Aladdin needs to turn into Prince Ali in order to make a run at this thing - he looked ultra gay last night. Hurley/Jack Osbourne turned a great song into a complete train wreck......
Phil- Surprised me this week. That was a pretty good performance out of him for once. Blake- Excellent performance again. Simon keeps saying it's a singing competition, but let's face it, the music industry isn't all about singing. Blake's got the personality, stage presence, and charisma to be a star. Chris Sligh- He's been consistently disappointing since his audition. This guy definitely peaked with that Seal song. Sanjaya- Terrible again. But he'll probably be around for a while. He's got the teeny-bopper vote, the Indian vote, and now the vote for the worst crowd. It's like the perfect storm of undeserved AI advancement. He even tried to scoop up Hawaii, but I doubt he fooled anyone with that Hula non-sense. Melinda- Terrific again. Prediction; she's going to win American Idol, and two years from now probably a couple Grammy's. She won't be a huge selling star, but should be able to carve out a pretty good solid career with a lot of critical accolades. Lakisha- Another great performance, one of the best of the night, but there's still the nagging feeling that she still doesn't have quite the personality (on and off stage) as Melinda. Jordin- Holy Crap did she look good last night. They finally did something with her hair, and wardrobe and made her look like a knock-out. And she's got a pretty decent set of pipes. I'm with the judges in saying that she put herself in contention with that performance. And in terms of the total package (looks, singing, and "it" factor), she might be the most marketable contestant this year. Everyone else- Meh. Not really worth discussing. Who get's the boot? Probably one of the guys that forget their words; Haley, Brandon, or Stephanie. My guess is that Haley gets put out of her misery.
Has anyone else been surprised how Gina has been able to pull it together in the last few weeks?? I'm starting to like her more and more every week, she reminds me of a skanky Kelly Clarkson..
mmmm. A skanky Kelly Clarkson. That's nice. I predicted that most of the guys would bomb, because they were singing Diana Ross. Maybe they could have a Teddy Pendergrass night for the women? The only guy I thought did well was Phil. Is anyone surprised when they forget lyrics to some of these songs? I believe people sing their best when they know the song, but that's part of the competition. They did choose the songs though, so they deserve all the criticism they get. I hope next week is better. Aladdin will survive again and force AI to change the voting. I also heard that AI's ratings are dipping, because the outcome is predictable and some could afford to miss the next month and still see their faves in the finals.

hahahahahahaha! i'm loving it. sanjaya sucking it up anohter week is great. AI loves to mock the crappy singers during the audition. it's poetic justice that one of those sucky singers is going deep into the competition.
I'm a HUGE AI fan, but I'm now voting for Sanjaya next week.. The dude is a horrible mess and looks like something straight out of Rocky Horror Picture Show every week, but the guy IMO is entertaining because he is SOOOO bad.. I'm loving Sanjayas messed up promos too "Not many people know I can hula" and then proceeds to hula dance like a chick in front of a wall full of pink flowers, I'm looking forward to seeing what other "talents" he's horrible at and what song he can under sing next week...

Someone on the radio (It was one of the upper staions like 106.9 or 107.5 - I'm old) said that it's ratings slipped. I guess they lied. Sorry to misinform. I'm rooting for Aladdin to go all the way to the end, because the voting is a joke. The fact that people can vote as often as they want makes these counts they spout out on Wednesdays a joke. It needs to be able to ignore those Vote For Last sites or any invalid phone number as far as I'm concerned. Who cares anyways, because a girl is going to get it this year.
