That was soooo lame. The first time she said, "what's a mink," was funny. Then she said it again, then she said, "what's a ballsy" tonight. I think you could actually read Chris's lips say that you have to stop saying that. Your act's old Pinkler. Hurry up and get voted off so you can start your pr0n career.
The thing that I thought was funny was that, yesterday, she said she thought Simon was calling her a fur coat. If she knew a mink had to do with a fur coat, then why would she ask what one was? Even if Simon did say "Minx?" I smell an act....
I think the whole thing was staged. Her mic was on when she said that, and then as Chris spoke to her and she said something and I couldn't hear it.
I noticed something else last night... I was watching the show at my girl-friend's apartment on her DVR and she made an interesting comment as the show was coming to an end. She said "The footage is always different at the end of the show than it is during their performances". I was like "Huh? Different how?". She pointed out that during the recap footage at the end of the show, right before they open voting, they showed Ace holding the mic with his hand while he sang the last note of his song. However, during his "actual" performance, Ace had both his arms out to the side during that portion of his song. We double checked it on the DVR and there is no disputing the discrepancy. So, what's the story with that? The show is supposed to be live, right? I guess they record some sort of dress rehearsal and then sometimes use that footage at the end of the show. BUT doesn't that kind of compromise the integrity of the voting system, and the whole show for that matter?
I don't watch enough to know - what kind of ending footage is it? Just like a montage at the credits? If it's live, there's probably not enough time to put together a well-cut video package for some of the performances near the end. If it's just quick cuts/shots without much singing, I guess it wouldn't effect the outcome in any real way...
After the last person gets judged, and after they come back from a commercial (I think), they say something like "we're about to open the phone lines for your votes but first let's take a look at what went down tonight...". Then they play about 20 seconds or so of each person's performance while displaying the number you should use to vote for them. I'm no expert, but it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to throw together. I mean, the only person they might have to rush on is the very last performer but I still don't see why they'd have to. And not to get too psychological about it, but the "recency effect" says that people are much more likely to remember the last thing you show/tell them, so if you show footage that is better or worse than the live performance, I could see undecided voters being falsely swayed one way or the other at last minute. I know, I know...it's picky, but stuff like this occupies the wee hours of the night.
I happen to have a copy of that episode, and I think your observation is correct. My guess is that since Ace is the last one to perform, they don't have time to pick one bit that sounds best for him in the short time frame, so they just pre-recorded a dress rehearsal, hoping it won't be too far off.
that record rehersals as well they do not have enough time to edit parts of the show so they play that instead
very average IMO Lisa Tucker- D Ace Young- C Mandisa- B- Kellie Pickler- D Bucky Covington- B- Catherine McPhee- B Paris Bennett- B Chris Daughtery- B- Taylor Hicks- B- Elliott Yamin- B+ My prediction final three Kellie Lisa Bucky I think Lisa will be eliminated.
Wow.. when Kellie was singing last night it was so bad I turned down the volume on the TV and turned on closed captions and the only thing it said was "Sounds of a little dog being kicked over and over and over again" Why didnt the judges call out Elloit for forgetting about 4-6 words of the song at the very start of it??? I think Bucky or Lisa will be gone.. Lisa doing Kelly Clarkson was a horrible idea with her voice..
