I think only the oil rig dude and blind dude are the oddballs in ability, and they each have their stories that help their "personality". And Megan & Jasmine are the gaffs by the judges. But really, who would you include instead of them? The only guy that DEFINITely should be inthe top 13 over any of those 4 is Ricky. So if they have 9 out of the top 10.. not too bad. Didn't think Tatiana was vocally superior to Anoop
Interesting. I don't find her very attractive (she's not bad looking; just not great looking) but I do like the way she sings. It's almost Ricki Lee Jones-ish.
Her dancing is hilariously bad! So, I'm all for her going through... every time she sings I get a good chuckle.
They do it to "close" the show on a high note. Think of it like a concert, at a concert nobody wants an artist to run through all of their big hits at the beginning of the show and then listen to a bunch of songs they barley know at the end.
There's really no need for that man, lets not get racial. The judges let some other average singers on par with Jasmine through and I don't hear you calling them out. Without a doubt Ricky Braddy shoulda gone through and you can also make the case for Junot to have been put through to the wildcard. Jasmine is not the worst singer in the top 13 but she ain't one of the best. I don't think it has anything to do with race because if it did they coulda evened it out with another black guy-Junot.
Calm your Tatiana love bro. Vocally she was superior? Okay, maybe on that song but in totality she doesn't hold a candle to Anoop. That's one of the reasons he has a ton of fans. What Tatiana did was she concentrated on picking songs that were a good fit for her. She didn't pick the more difficult Whitney songs because that would have been very dangerous, she went for two others that although they are still fairly tough to sing, they aren't as difficult as the others. And in response to your comment about singing the same songs, Anoop sang My prerogative in Hollywood week, not during the battle to make the top 12. Tatiana sang it the week of competition to make the top 12 and she didn't make it. She then sang it again on Thursday and didn't make it. Was that smart? You realize the song didn't get you through and you still sing it again. Simon said the same thing. Anoop didn't sing the song on back to back weeks or performances. I agree with you on Megan, I like her voice but her perfomance was bad. I thought she was on drugs.
That is what it was; I couldn't remember but I knew it was something like that. As someone who absolutely loves Rickie Lee Jones, um no, tatted up girl Corkrey (sp?) sounds nothing like RLJ. Her voice is not even close to sounding the same. She sounds like a poor girl's version of Feist, to me. I thought she was terrible and Kristen McNamara should have made it over her or she should have been just left out and they would have had 8 guys and 4 girls. I will say though that the funniest thing was when she tried to give Jasmine a high-five and Jasmine completely ignored her. Made Megan look like a complete idiot, hehe. Hopefully, she gets eliminated very quickly. Oh and on Tatiana - I told my wife that she would get absolutely skewered for repeating "Saving All my Love for You". And she did - also loved how she tried speaking in Spanish when she was getting *emotional* simply because that is what Jorge did. Supposedly, you can hear Kara audibly say something like "God, stop it" or "God, please don't do that" after Tatiana started bowing to the crowd, LOL!

Actually I have ZERO love for Tatiana. I wanted her gone from the first audition. But a million times over, her singing capabilities outshine Anoops, and I like Anoop. I wanted him moved up. The point is, you dont wag your finger at one competitor for using the same song, and to a smaller degree they did it with Junot too, then praise your predestined pick for wild card when he does it. Now that I rewatched the shows the more convinced I am that Anoop has ZERO chance of winning this competition, and I see what a disservice not including Ricky and Jessy was based on merit.
Megan could have turned around and farted into the mic and the judges would have called the performance cool and current. I don't like her performances and hope she gets booted soon. She swings her arms like a little girl.
But you're still not getting my point about the singing of the same song. Tatiana sang the same song BOTH WEEKS! The week to get in the original top 12 and the wild card week. She didn't make it through the first time she sang it and yet she still sang it again and didn't make it through. That was Simons point as well. Anoop sang his song back in Hollywood week, ages ago! He didn't sing it twice in the top 12 weeks. That's why there was no issue about it.
Today is the first show I've watched and man, Paula looks like a crack w****. She just needs to go away. I couldn't believe the way they went on and on about the emo freak that sang Black and White. I thought it was absolutely horrible.
Tranny Lambert is awful. Just awful. It seems like, this year, instead of talent, they're looking for someone that is ABSOLUTELY different. This mixture of The Darkness and Matchbook Romance meets a sheep in heat is just terrible when he hits those high notes. It makes my ears want to bleed. When he sings at a normal tone, he's so-so. What's funny is that, in my opinion, Danny Gokey, the best singer in the competition by a mile, gets nowhere near the hype that this guy does. Top5: 1.Gokey 2.16 year-old girl (my problem with her is that you can't understand everything she is singing) 3.Matt 4.Adam Lambert 5.Lil Rounds Kris was pretty good. He's great with the guitar, a breath of fresh air. Anoop disappointed, but won't go home. Megan sucks, but like someone said, she could turn around and fart, and they would love it (great quote, by the way ). Jorge (Villalobos..if you're a Meet the Fockers fan...) was a bit of a downer. Alexis tried too hard. Oil Rigger is just so-so. Jasmine needs to go. I wish they'd eliminate both Alexis and Jasmine, but they gotta leave some girls... I don't get all the anoop love. He looks like a wannabe to me, or a collection of albums. Him, and oil rig guy/Jorge will be home tomorrow. Jasmine is not mature enough, she'll go home soon too. Actually, I don't quite get the mad Gokey love also. He's pretty good, but not what made out to be. The best singer so far is the 16 year old girl, by a mile.
