I was pretty pissed at some of the judges' choices for the wildcard - mainly in Von Smith, Tatiana, Jesse, and Megan. I loathe all 4 of these people and hope and pray that none of them are in the final 12. Kristen McNamara deserved a spot amongst that 8, IMO. I still don't know how it is going to work because AI likes to keep you in the dark but I am guessing that tonight we will see the 8 perform and then the judges will pick the 3 that they think did the best. I thought that maybe America would get to vote on this but the next time AI comes on after tonight would be next week so it is pretty apparent that the judges will be the ones determining who gets the final 3 spots out of the 8 they picked. I am just really worried that with only 3 girls out of 9, that the judges are going to go with 3 or 2 girls for those last 3 spots. Anoop Dog better be one of the 3 but I have a bad feeling that Megan will make it as well as Jasmine. I much rather see Matt in it over those other 2.
He is not completely blind but his field of vision is such that he can only see like the width of a rolled up paper or something like that. So, I would guess he is over 90% blind.
Yeah I'm worried about the same crap.. I really hope Anoop and Matt are in, but I think they might go with 2 girls just to try and even it out. I'm just hoping that they're actually looking for the 12 best at this point instead of even #'s now that they're down to the "finals"

I can't stand Lambert. He sings fairly well, but it's not my cup of tea. I can't stand the ultra-high pitched wailing into the microphone. As for tonight, Matt Giraud better be in. That guy's got more talent than just about everyone in the top 12 so far (except for Gokey and the 16 year-old girl). Anoop should be in also. Then, you know they'll have to put a girl in, and I think they'll put that hippie Megan in. (she's not horrible, she just needs to stop dancing. Her dancing is just as bad as little kicks...)
so obvious that they decided before the show that matt, that awful tatted blonde girl with no voice or stage presence but a pretty smile, and anoop will go through. really sickening show. they should be ashamed of themselves.
I think the judges have made it pretty clear what the Wild Card is all about and why they do it...it's not like they hide the fact that they select a few contestants to go through themselves. It's also pretty obvious and not that surprising who the producers would like to see go deep into the competition. At the end of the day, the show is about ratings and about finding someone marketable to sell albums...if the contestant can sing well so be it. That's why people like Tatiana and Nick made it as far as they did.
Why should they be ashamed? This round is judge's choice. If America doesn't like their choices, they can start voting them off next week.
Megan was awful and extremely awkward on stage. I don't get the judges' infatuation with her at all. Yes, she's attractive, but her looks are all she has going for her. Seriously, why bother with tonight's show at all? It was painfully, excruciatingly clear the judges had made their wild card decisions well before the singing even began. It was embarrassing and insulting listening to the judges try to prop up terrible performances by Megan, Jasmine, and (yes) Anoop just so they could justify their choices later on. "Sorry, Ricky. Even though we know you're a much better singer than Jasmine, we really needed another minority female. Plus, you just didn't test well with the 35-50 demographic focus group. Enjoy obscurity." Simon was actually honest for once when he said tonight was about "casting" the remaining 3 spots (although I'm guessing it was just a slip-up on his part).
I'll be pulling for Matt. Since I work as a dueling piano player, I hope that he goes far and our industry gets pimped a little more. It would be nice for more people to know what a dueling piano bar is all about.
You are correct sir. Going into this night I called Jasmine, Megan, and Anoop. When we heard Matt sing, it made it impossible for them to not include him. I can not for the life of me see how they justified Megan though. Her stage presence was horrific. I noticed it after hollywood week, with the stiff arms, and hunches, and weird twirling of the arms. But her voice isn't that great at all. Jessy sang better, and to be quite honest, of all the contestents she was bottom 3-5 as far as vocals go. And could they honestly chastise Tatiana for repeating a song, when Anoop did the same thing. How could they with an honest face watch two straight competitors do the same thing then complain at one and literally cheer the other? And lets all be really honest, I like Anoop, I think the guy can sing, but vocally tatiana was superior. This wild card show was an absolute joke. OH and btw. Kristen ( I think? the country singer) was not near good enough. All in all though, I think the fans pretty much got it right. Except for Big Oil Rig dude, the Blind Dude, and maybe the dude who sang Michael Jackson. Allison was the most spectacular female for me.
