I'm gonna only go with what I see on the show, cause I'm guessing a lot of them have done some good stuff in the past. I'm not saying he's bad.. just not great (yet). Yeah I agree they made a big mistake with Jamar. I am just assuming that something will happen to bring him back before the start of the top 36 cause he really seems like he's good enough to be top 20 at least.
Idol Semifinalist Deemed Ineligible for Competition Feb 12, 2009 10:03 AM ET by Adam Bryant American Idol just named its Top 36 Wednesday, but you won't get to vote for one of them. Joanna Pacitti, who has been hotly debated on Idol fansites because of her former record deal with A&M Records, has been booted from the competition, according to a Fox press release. "It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition," the statement read. No further explanation was offered. In addition to chatter about Pacitti's previous recording career, the singer has also been rumored to have a close relationship with some of the executives of 19 Entertainment, the company that produces Idol. In Pacitti's place will be Felicia Barton, who was seen being eliminated Wednesday. She wasn't heavily featured on the show, but her rendition of "Put Your Records On" during the Louisville, KY, audition round did create some buzz among fans. Pacitti has endured public controversy before. At age 11, she was cast to star in the revival of Annie and embarked on a national tour. Two weeks before the musical was to hit Broadway, Pacitti fell ill and was replaced by a new actress — permanently. Her firing generated national headlines and her mom sued for $50 million. The case was settled out of court.
I think Jamar was out so people could focus on Gokey.......if he comes back next year I would bet he is in.... DD
I can't believe they let the blind dude through. Yeah, it's a great story, but his voice isn't that good...
Agreed. There were a lot of contestants forgot the words n judges still let them in, but Jamar...he did nothing wrong, still out. Forget the words is just judges' excuse... btw, next week the competition must be very keen. Look at those ppl on Group One!
Man just saw on DVR they cut Jamar (SP) WTF? Are you telling me he's not as good or better than Norman? The Welder and the Oil Rig guy? Please.. But man Anoop is pretty damn good, sometimes you have just have to close your eyes and listen to the quality and Anoop is probably a top 3-4 with quality alone. It's crazy because obviously he doesn't have the look and I have a feeling that AI won't allow him to go all the way because it will be hard to market that guy. Remember you need a lot going for you in the industry to make big money. Sound, Edge, Uniqueness, Looks...
Let me get this straight....the psycho chick with the awful laugh...and the supremely gay guy who dresses like a poor version of the singer from the band "Loverboy"...made the final cut? Ouch. I highly disagree. Was it all the sobbing that got them through...as in if they cry the judges a river...the judges just want them out of the room as quickly as possible for the time being...until they actually get up the guts to cut these pukes?
they "let" taylor hicks win it all, and he's not selling shat. And I think everyone knew he wouldn't. So I don't think they have much to do with it at this point..
Weird thing to notice, but I've seen alot of singers singing without shoes this year. Is this a new thing? Singing barefoot.
I think Jamar was aight but I don't think he was anything special or any better than the oil rig guy or the welder. If anything y'all should be pissed they cut him and let some of the idiots that forgot their lyrics on through. I like Danny but I don't think he's anything special either. He sounds to me like a poor version of Elliot Yamin,(Not that there's anything bad about that as Elliot was quite good and underrated imho). I've already stated i'm in Anne Marie and Anoops camps. After watching Anoop with his Clefhangers group, I'm further convinced that the dude is "The Truth". He reminds me of one of my best buds from college. An Indian guy that could 'sang'. My boy actually opened for 112 in Dallas but always refused my attempts to get him to try out for Idol. Seriously though they are some solid Indian cats out there that can outsing a lot of people. I was thinking about that during Anoops audition as Randy Jackson said something about not expecting that kind of vocal show from Anoop. Ever since I heard Penn Masala I've learnt not to underestimate the Indian singers out there.
it's not very common, but not very new either. i think it's something to due with feeling the vibrations of the music from the stage. who knows? joss stone comes to mind. it is the first time i've seen it on AI though.
The blond, hippy-ish chick from last season sang barefoot fairly often... Brooke something was her name.
