I really don't like Adam, but I thought he was better than usual. However, I hate it when someone gets into their falsetto and just stays there until it seems like their head is going to explode.

I felt kind of bad because when Scott was talking to Ryan, and Ryan says, "Scott, it's nice to see you again." Scott says, "You too, Ryan." And my girlfriend bursts out laughing.

    God, I love her. :D

    My rankings from Wednesday

    Matt G.
    Allison
    Adam

    Kris
    Anoop

    Scott
    Lil

    Michael S.
    Megan

The bottom two has to be Michael and Megan and Megan needs to leave ASAP.
I can't believe Allison was even in the bottom 3 last week, just unbelievable.

As much as I hate Lambert, he was pretty good today and picked a great song. I still think Matt G was tops and Allison was right there with him.

Kris is underrated and I can't wait for Anoop to show what he can do on an R&B tune because no one else in the top 10 but Lil or Matt G. can sing that genre like him.

Also, why do they(A.Idol) even waste our time letting Paula speak? Just have her smile and move along. It's cruel to have her speak first after the performance. I think if I was a performer I'd really just listen to Randy and Kara and take Simon and Paula's comments with a grain of salt.
I'm digging Kara more and more and she's on point with her comments on the performers. Plus, unlike Simon, when Kara tells the performers they should have picked another song that would have been a better fit, she always offers up alternate songs that would have worked. I like that about her.

Hopefully Megan goes home this week.

They say that to him about once a week and I always laugh.

Id don't see why the Matt Love.

He was boring, stale, his range is very limited. Though I liked his stuff last week very much, most weeks he just bores me to death, but this week it was barely middle of the road.

To me the most inferior voice out there is Scott. Its just turrible. Flat, monotone, boring. Please just stop it.

Next in line is Megan. I don't mind the tats that some have been ripping her for, till I noticed her tats covering her feet. And Im left to wonder: Does the whole arm tatoo go completely down one side of her? And Im all for a fresh look, but damn she looked looked like a 40's style hooker tonight.

    Adam was absolutely great.

Allison was probably next. Though the song she sang was done last year much much better. God I can't remember the dude who sang it. Skinny spanish dude. He blazed that song last year.

Then maybe Gokey, Chris, Anoop, Matt, Sarver, Megan, Scott rounds it out.

WOW, boring show last night... The most entertaining part was watching Paula squirm with a Sharpie mustache on her face for the end of the show..

Sarver is going home for sure tonight..

‘Idol’ Group Numbers: Not So Live After All

    By EDWARD WYATT
    Published: March 25, 2009
LOS ANGELES — Watch closely, America. Your Idols may be lip-synching.

A spokesman for the producers of “American Idol” said as much on Wednesday, after assertions by a former “American Idol” contestant that the weekly group numbers, which are performed near the beginning of each week’s results show, appear to be using recorded vocals this year.

That contestant, Justin Guarini — who finished second to Kelly Clarkson in the first season of “American Idol” and is now a co-host of “Idol Wrap” on the TV Guide Network — created an uproar when he said last week on that program that the performers appeared to be lip-synching.

“Every single year we can’t stand the group performances,” Mr. Guarini said. “I know they can’t stand it either. And I think what makes them even worse now is that they’re lip-synched. They’re really prerecorded now.”

Manfred Westphal, a spokesman for FremantleMedia North America, which produces “American Idol” for Fox, at first denied the charge, saying on Tuesday: “The Idols don’t lip-sync, period.” But on Wednesday, in an e-mail message, Mr. Westphal said: “Due to extensive choreography and to balance their voices with open mikes against a screaming audience, the Idols do sing along to their own prerecorded vocal track during the group performances only.”

He added that the contestants’ solo performances never use any recorded music or vocals, although the contestants do record their weekly song choice before the performance competition so that it will be ready for release on iTunes after the show.

A subtle assessment might depend on how one defines “lip-sync.” Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary says it is “to pretend to sing or say in synchronization with recorded sound.” When the “Idol” contestants are singing out loud as a recorded track plays in the background, they technically are not lip-synching, according to that definition. Whatever the singers are doing, the band appears to be playing live.

The visual evidence in recent weeks has indicated that the group vocals are recorded. Two weeks ago, as the Top 13 contestants performed a medley of Jackson 5 hits, Jasmine Murray seemed to be at least a half-beat behind the music during the song “ABC.” During last week’s performance of “Trouble,” Megan Joy held the microphone well away from her face as she appeared to struggle to remember the choreography. Several contestants dropped their microphones to their sides last week at the song’s end, even as their final note continued to soar through the speakers.

The rigor of the program’s weekly schedule does not make it easy for the contestants. The singers have just a few days to learn the group lyrics and the Up With People-style choreography, as well as which camera to look into at what time. That is in addition, of course, to learning their own songs for the competition.

In a telephone interview on Wednesday Mr. Guarini said that he does not blame the producers. “I know they are interested in making the best show possible and in caring for the contestants’ voices,” he said. “It’s almost torture to watch the contestants sing and dance like they don’t have a care in the world when in fact they’re sweating bullets” over who will be eliminated.

One of the piano players where I work is blind and we make jokes about his blindness on stage all the time. He's the guy that is in Tucker Max's book if anyone has read it (I haven't). Anyway, I give him a ride home from work since we live in the same part of town and he always says "I'll see you next week!" He doesn't say it as a joke, but it still pretty much gets me every time.

Sheesh, any idiot can see that those group performances are lip synced.

We TiVo AI and it only takes us about 15 minutes to watch the elimination show, but I always make it a point to stop and watch the group performance for a minute or so....just to see if they are lip syncing. Obviously they are, but I always assumed it was because they didn't want to ruin their voices on a meaningless group song.

And yes, the band is playing live. That is a great band and the drummer is a BAD ASS, whoever he is.

I've been saying this for weeks but Scott does not have a great voice, at least the voice that is needed to win this thing. He will probably last a little longer because I still see a lot of people voting for him due to the sympathy factor (I hate typing that but it is true). Megan or Sarver should be the one to be eliminated and I would really really really really like to see it be Megan. God, I absolutely loathe this woman.

    Exactly.

This is what I do, too.

THe group songs are so lyp-sinced, I don't even know if it is the Idols that are singing them to begin with. It sounds like Kids' Bop.

I agree, but I'd rather see a good looking train wreak than one that looks like the old Beauty and the Beast T.V. show..

LOL! Well if things don't work out for Sarver on AI, there's always a future for him as Hellboy's stunt double!

    My Ratings for yesterday.

Tier 1 (They were just in a league of there own last night)

    1. Adam Lambert
    2. Allison Iraheta

    Tier 2

    3. Danny Gokey
    4. Anoop Desai
    5. Matt Giraud (I prefer Kris over Matt but people have a hard time hearing quality in ones voice.)
    6. Kris Allen
    7. Lil Rounds (She really blew it.. My god this was her night and she did horrible)

Tier 3. (These 3 will be booted off)

    8. Scott MacIntyre
    9. Megan Joy
    10. Michael Sarver

Today I have a feeling that either Michael or Megan will be cut. Megan is nice on the eyes and has a unique sound to her. So hopefully she makes it just one more round and then gets cut.

I will admit that she has a nice face but that is about it. Her stupid tat ruins the rest of her outward appearance in my eyes mainly because it is so damn big and on her arm which is really gross on a woman. Add the fact that she has that stupid ass dance she does and her voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard and that she is so dorky acting (did you see the look she gave the camera when Seacrest gave her phone number to the voters?). So she has all those negatives going for her which easily negates the fact that she is "nice on the eyes". Honestly, if she is on next week, I think I will poke my eyes out and bust my ear drums when she comes on so I don't have to look at her or hear her!
