The only thing close is wondering whether we would extend him beyond 2024 and whether we would be better off trading him to receive value. It;s a very GM discussion. I have no doubt we'd extend him in a second at Yordan rates, but probably not for 7 years. And even that was during his May swoon. It always amuses me when the same people that think every player over 30 is over the hill will demand we sign a FA to a 10 year MAX contract at 29.
Yeah it has to be rough riding the bench for so long and then having to face post season pitching. I'm a firm believer that players in this type of situation are pressing too hard to justify their playing time. Give him some consistent at bats and he will be fine.
I don't think they will give him anything to hit. They might even walk him with the bases loaded. the announcers even as dumb as they were last night, said you can't pitch to this guy right now.
Finish the job today. I have wanted the Stros to play Arlington in the Playoffs for so long. This is our opportunity to shut that stupid fanbase up once and for all. PLEASE DONT SCREW THIS UP.
‘Tis game day fellas. What would we even chant, “WE WANT SOUTH OKLAHOMA” “WE WANT ARLINGTON” ??? lmao. Or just let the play on the field speak for itself. Handle business today.
I don't doubt that the shadows were hard - but I went back and watched pitch by pitch with Javier last night - and I don't think anyone was going to hit him. The Twins were lucky to get the hit they got. The only thing that was going to stop Javier last night was his command on the edge of the zone. He has really nasty movement tailing to the edge of the strike zone and his high fastball was unhittable. He was sitting 96 on the high fastball when he needed it. If his conditioning was better, he could have likely breezed through 8 innings. The Twins very well could win the next to games - this one wasn't fair, Javier was Pedro Martinez type nasty. Gray looked really good on some pitches, but his sweeper is a feast or famine pitch. When he places it where he wants, it is lights out - but he was hanging some in the zone, and some up and they were crushed.
You do what you have always done the last 7 years and don't chant anything. Stros fans just move onto the next and watch them handle business. that's what real winners and champs do. Only dbag fanbases or folks new to all this set themselves up for bulletin board material because they don't know any better
twins will be lucky to win even tonight's game. The honeymoon phase is over. their world series was the wc round and taking one in houston
and that's surprising? stros have been horrible at home all year. that all of a sudden doesn't change
