Maldy’s predictable pitch calling is an underexplored storyline. If we are going to have a personal catcher, it would be nice if he could either keep his BFF calm and collected, or not call precisely what the hitter expects. If he can’t do that, he could try to get a hit himself. Or not … no worries and nothing to be too urgent about.
If you want a double play, you throw the sinker, and we wanted it. Correa still has to hit it. I am fine with it. The real problem is that Framber has to get some quality back. He's had two months to get back to being an ace, but hasn't been able to return to form. Concerning.
It was reported Framber hurt his ankle just before ASB. Since then.... - Framber's results regressed - he never missed a start for recovery - Dusty continued playing Mold over Diaz to increase odds of winning games and create breathing room for recovery - the team kept throwing Javier, Brown, and France when they clearly needed rest despite having other options to skip their starts (Bielak, Blanco) The overall management of this team makes Bo Porter and Silas look like HOFs.
I expected this series to be split as the Stros struggle at home and the Twins have some really good pitching. We’re probably going to split on the road too and come back to a game 5. Lopez had a great game but the Stros did still get hits. This Stros team has faced adversity before and can still come through.
2023 stros prefer road field advantage. It is what it is. Shouldn’t be surprised they dropped yesterdays game at home. They just are much better on the road
