5 appearances vs Astros this year. 1 IP each. Only 1 perfect inning. Last time was 7/28. Came into a tie game in the 8th and gave up 2 runs to lose it. Hit Gurriel with a pitch who scored on a double by Alex who then scored on a wild pitch.
That guy is filthy. Well, that is definitely good data to see. He was filthy this weekend- might be more accurate!
Lance confirmed in an interview on "High Heat" that "it seems like every day a couple of guys come in not feeling great." So IDK. Hopefully it's not serious...
Nothing against these guys, but man, does that not make our rotation so insane… top 3 pitchers they got all start with a 3…
I'm seriously surprised at the lack of faith against The Mariners... Astros have been the best team in baseball for the past 5 years, they have been to 3 world series and just came up short in two of them. They could have easily won all three... They could have easily gone to the World Series every single year since 2017. And all of sudden they are going to get beat by The Mariners? This series will be just another day at work for The Astros.... Yeah, they could lose but nothing points towards the fact that they shouldn't flat out expect to destroy The Mariners.
The game is on TBS. My Uverse app will let me stream TBS. I'm sure there is also a TBS app and you'd just need to sign in with your cable/satellite info to access.
The two aces can form the Flying V, an impenetrable formation that protects hfa and 2-0 series leads.
If I’m the mariners, I’m pitching around Altuve, bregman, alverez. I’m making Peña and Tucker beat me at the top, Tucker has been cold (.280 career playoff hitter though)and Peña needs to prove he’s playoff ready. Challenge those two. No way I challenge Altuve, Alverez, try and frustrate those guys. Obviously attack yuli and the bottom of the order until they can prove consistency.
There’s some unsettling news a page or so back about Dusty hesitating with the playoff roster due to some “sickness” passing through the team right now
Any baserunner in the playoffs puts a helluva lot of pressure on the pitcher in the post-season. It also ramps up the pitch count. Haven’t seen it much thus far, but managers featuring the quick hook and turning normal games into bullpen games has been the trend the last few years when their starters faces consistent traffic or have to labor more. Basically, the Astros would gladly welcome any strategy that involves avoiding 3-4 hitters in their lineup consistently.
Now it looks like I can get to the archived game of padres vs. mets. Hope that means the Astros games will be available.
