Why Bregman 3rd when he's been our 7th best hitter and turns into dust in the playoffs? Why Raley and his 4.78 era as your lefty, over Taylor and his 3.16?

Odorizzi has got to be all kinds of pissed off. Feel like leaving him off is a mistake, but who knows? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

No clue why Raley's there over Taylor. But you only need one of them since Chicago has 2 lefties on their entire roster.

Having your best hitter in the 7 hole is stupid

Oh for sure. Arguably you could leave both off. But Taylor's been good this year. An alternative would have been to give Odo a roster spot. He's been good lately and might be solid if we need a long relief appearance. I'm not sure what's wrong with Greinke but I trust Odo over him and Javier right now.

The 7th spot in our lineup is the true "clean up" spot. I'm fine with Tucker batting clean up in our lineup before production drops off in the 8/9 spots.

I haven't seen this movie, but I love that scene. It's why I prefer OBP to BA at the top of the line-up. Get the batter with the best OBP the most PAs. Then those who are good at OBP and SLG, then your SLG. Then consider OBP and speed to keep from clogging up the base paths for the top of the order.

I might tweek the line-up by swapping Maldy and Meyers to reduce the chances of Maldy hitting into a DP or making Altuve more susceptible to hitting into one.

Raley has better recent splits... .147 BA against in last 28 days. Taylor in .250. ERA with relievers are incredibly unreliable measure right now due to the Manfraud rule which deflates ERAs in extra innings.

Baker believes in staggering the left-handed bats esp with the 3 batter rule... I would have dropped Bregs to 7 and have Yuli in the 3 spot then moving everyone up. Despite low batting averages in the Meyers and Maldy... they still bat better than most of the league.

    Odorizzi vs White Sox

No appearances.... I don't mind him being on the roster since they haven't seen his sneaky fastball.

Raley vs lefties 2021....he DOMINATES lefties but have to be smart using him with 3 batter rule
    1.27 ERA, .195 AVG, 262 OBP, .221 SLG, 14.77 K/9, .89 WHIP, .87 FIP, 0 HR

BTW, when we face a Lefty pitcher, Alvarez and Tucker are better options than any righty we can bring in. Brantley, not so much.

Post back with your thoughts after you see the scene where Billy eviscerates David Justice. ;)
