Sounds about right. They definitely were all together to start the year… when Tucker was in his unlucky funk. Bregman’s hamstring injury prevented most of it. Then Brantley’s injury towards the end of the year.
18 walks may not be sustainable. We have a good eye, which is half the battle, but that is a lot of walks.
They probably won't, but on the upside the White Sox pitching staff is much better than the Red Sox staff. People say they faded in the second half but they really didn't - 3rd in xwOBA in MLB in the second half with only two NL teams bettering them. The only snag for them was Rodon's injury but his velo was back and then some when he faced us.
I'm generally confident when facing opposing pitching, but our job against the Chi-Sox exceeded all expectaitions. Nobody made it out of the 5th inning. 14 ER over 10.1 IP, good for a 12.23 ERA. I expected this against Lynn and Cease, we've chased them early and often. Rodon and Giolito? We looked like a different team against them then we did in June and July. GREAT hitting beats GOOD pitching. We carry this over against Boston, we win the series in 5 games. Hitting this good is the great equalizer between our young pitching staff and the firing squads of LA and SF.
Good lord no. I used to go there back when it opened. They literally haven't changed, cleaned, or updated anything since 1995. Even The 19th Hole is less gross. The place I'm referring to is Sawyer Park. A new place that took over the space that used to be Papa's Ice House. They also own Exit 73, Mak's, and the 2 Woodson's.
A bunch of pundits are starting to turn the corner on the Astros as cheaters. Watching whatever I can for mlb news on the tele and it seems like these fools are now admitting that the Astros are JUST GOOD! Its at the stage of acceptance, just as they all did with Tom Brady and the Patriots.
I have noticed as well. Still waiting for the general acceptance of the entire leagues involvement. Might be a long wait unfortunately.
I'm almost certain it's MLB imposed. MLB has told its players, coaches, and media to no longer mention the scandle. If the Astros win it all, MLB is concerned it would tarnish its own credibility, hence the backtracking.
Who will be our Game 2 Starter? Garcia or Urquidy? Hope LMJ can go for Game 3 and Game 7 (if necessary)
I’m picking the Astros. Seems like destiny and Dusty rides off in the sunset with a bottle of his wine.
