Post game show, people acting like the Astros are down a game in the series. Interesting. Whitesox got aided by a ridiculous miss on a strike 3 and a clear interference play. On to the next. Better team will win the series. If the Astros can stay disciplined against Rodon, they should have some luck. He was throwing 88-92 last start. Something is going on there.
Just in case you want to see the douche behind the words..... Bulletin board material....time to close this one out today after giving them some hope.
The problem is the Sox probably also got some bad calls their way also. The issue was the timing. I guess it can be said the Sox capitalized on the umps mistakes and the Astros didn't for that game.
Someone should have asked Tepera why did Cease and their excellent long relief guy get knocked out of the game so early? The approach was the same. Stros started swinging once the ump had established his ever changing strike zone and the damage had already been done. What I worry is that the ump, with 4 players and even dusty getting in his face, will get more bold with the shennanigans
Our bullpen is incredibly inconsistent. This will not be a easy playoff run. having said that, this call here was the difference in this game.
Pretty f***ing stupid of him to throw those out there in a press conference. They still scored 6 runs in a playoff game. Were they stealing signs last night against Cease? What a schmuck.
The longer the series, the more ads they can make. MLB made a lot of money yesterday televising a lot of ads with a lot more viewers in the playoffs than the regular season. You play 162 games, what are the chances of 4 teams in a tie at the end of the season. MLB would never agree to use replays at the batter's box because they can't aid in prolonging pennant races, or make an exciting finish. MLB needs to make money this year because last year pandemic season with no fans = lost revenue.
Looking back at last night. You can clearly see what the MLB was doing. They put one of the worst umpires behind home plate to call the game. This forces the pitchers to basically have to throw it right down the middle. Combine that with home field advantage and forcing the Astros hitters to expand their strike zone equals a loss. Oh and not to mention Grandal running 4 feet inside the baseline intentionally.. Add in all of that and the Astros were basically a soldier with only a pistol vs an enemy machine gunner. No chance.
Dusty Baker’s bullpen management cost the Astros in their Game 3 loss to the White Sox https://theathletic.com/2881477/202...astros-in-their-game-3-loss-to-the-white-sox/
You're not wrong and that goes for a lot of people. My good friend owns bars in and around The Woodlands. I was at one with him last night and the place was PACKED...on a Sunday night. He's a huge Astros fan, born and raised. But he is (not so) secretly hoping for a 5 game series here, 7 in the ALCS and 7 in the WS.
I mean using his logic they might be stealing signs or something too. They were a completely different team at home...it's almost like home field advantage isn't a thing for the Astros and if the Astros win at home then it can't just be that they are more comfy playing in their own park.
Using that logic, that obviously means the White Sox also stole signs at home then, right Ryan?? And how about we discuss the fact that even though we got smoked yesterday, we still put up more runs at your stadium in one game than you did at ours over TWO games. But obviously we're stealing signs, and you aren't.....right??? ****ing clown.
