Are you sure? I thought he was warming up no later than when Fields was in the game and walked in the tying run.
Would you guys have used him for games 2 and 4? I know it's easy in hindsight, but I was actually screaming to my friends that we shoudl've used him in both instances. I wouldn't be surprised if Hinch uses Fiers or even keichel in relief tonight. Do or die.
They've outscored KC 15-14 in their five games in Kansas City this year. And they had the lead at the end of 14 of the 18 innings they played in KC last week. Overall, they've led in 22 of the 36 ALDS innings. I'm not suggesting they *will* win - but surprised? No one should be surprised if the Astros win. No one.
I absolutely would've used him in Game 2. I know Perez got that one out he came in for in Game 1, but I thought it was too risky to throw him out there the next afternoon. Which it was as it turns out. I wish he'd gone with Fiers instead. As for Game 4, like I said before, I ain't gonna fault Hinch on that one. The Sipp-Harris-Gregerson trio had been money dating back to the win at the Yankees. No one saw that meltdown coming. The only two things I would question were not bringing in Sipp to start the 8th since Harris had already pitched in the 7th and there was a long time between innings thanks to the Stros scoring 3 runs and then sticking with Harris until he'd already given up 4 straight singles. I'd think you'd wanna yank the guy after 2 and certainly no more than 3.
For whatever it's worth, Keuchel is listed on the lineup card with McCullers in the area usually reserved for unavailable pitchers. I imagine that is not set in stone depending on how the game progresses.
If game is tied or we have a small lead, I would not be surprised to see him in there in the 7th or 8th.
Gattis has moved down but still don't like it, hopefully they give him something to hit and he makes them pay but I have 0 confindence in him right now. I would put Jake in left if Gomez "must" play CF then make Rasmus my DH. Did Marisnick kick Hinch's dog or what?
