Except when he drove in a big run in the WC game against the yankees Or in game 1 when his 3 hits helped us take the lead in the series It's baseball man, none of these guys can be perfect. You can take the best and the worst players in the game, and if you pick out a sample size of a few games, show them to be Great...or Awful

I've been only a casual Astros fan the past 3 years, but I can safely say this game has turned me into a true fan. Never have I been so emotionally invested in a baseball game in my life. Same thing happened back in the 09 Rockets playoff run. Never really cared for basketball, but that run had me so emotionally invested that I could not love the sport and team. Football for me is the most entertaining sport personally to watch, but I've never been as emotionally involved with the Texans as I have with the Rockets and now the Astros. Despite the terrible collapse, the things that stood out the most were the performances of our 2 youngest players. McCullers and Correa (despite the error) looked like they belonged and came up huge in such an important game. They are going to be fantastic players for a long time for this team.
We have a winner take all Game 5. Us against the world. On the road. Hostile environment. 25 guys who do not have a sh-t to give and will lay it all on the line. They have already moved on and will be ready to crush and hustle. I'LL ride with this team any day. You Know KC fans don't want any more of us. They're the favorites, all the pressure is on them. Astros all the way!
As a lifelong Houston sports fan... it pains me to say this doesn't even rank on the top 10 of "heartbreaks". Maybe it was the flukey nature they got out of the 7th inning "jam"... maybe it was the 4 singles in a row (2 of them not really hit hard at all).... or maybe it was the Royals making every AB (no matter who the pitcher was) a freaking battle/marathon that truly is an underrated/underappreciated-by-analytics (ability to foul off tough pitches) tactic.... or maybe its the fact that they still have one more game and its only to get to the ALCS (not winning a pennant). Being at the game, there was a ton of nervous energy there compared to yesterday... then again, the 12 pm start certainly messed with people's moods/schedules (frankly, I was still worn out from yesterday's game).... people definitely did exhale after the Correa/Rasmus back to back combo... unfortunately, so did the Astros bullpen. Game 5 will just be another game... I doubt there'll be much lingering effects from this game, unless McHugh does his first-inning shenanigans that he's know for from time to time. Its still been a pleasure to watch young Astros take the playoffs by storm... there will be no "adjustment factor" or "years of pent-up aggression" that Biggio/Bagwell had to suffer through till they finally tasted some actual success at the plate. And the moment you realize that Correa may have just had the greatest day at the plate in Astros playoff history... AND he's completely bitter about it because of his fielding error (and owning up for his mistakes)... AND he's only 21 but very well could be considered the true leader of this team... it tends to soften the blows having watched "just another bullpen guy" being unable to protect a 4 run lead (that's what I've nicknamed the Astros bullpen... they're all just "guys"... most days, they're fine... but they're all capable of "this").
Toronto used Price in the 5th because they NEEDED to win the game. Why Hinch has NOT used Fiers? Why???? Fiers is a very good pitcher
That was a painful way to end my 1st ever playoff baseball game. First I saw a little kid get hit by a foul ball. Then a guy in our section fell down the stairs and had to get taken out on a stretcher. Then we blew the game. No more playoff games for me!!
Fiers out of bullpen is still unproven. You have forgotten about the game he came out of the bullpen after the trade and gave up 6 runs or so. If you want to give your team the best chance to win then you put out the closer to start the 8th or Sipp. I thought the Astros were going with Harris/ Sipp/ luke all this time. Not sure why they changed it up.
More often than not, the visiting teams are the ones doing the blowouts in game 5's of division series... not to mention that you have a Royals team that has needed the improbable to happen in each of their wins.
