Luzardo is better than Fiers, who lasted all of 1 inning in his previous start? Why would they run him out there in game 3? Do Astros fans really expect the A's to be stupid for no reason?

I would agree if Javier were much better than Taylor/Paredes and more likely to close out the game. But he's not really any better - so there's a cost (Game 4 mess) with no benefit. This is not a scenario like 2017 where our entire bullpen is flaming out - just half of it. So we should use the other half to do what they do well.

If Javier were to implode today, game 4 and game 5 would both be bullpen games, and you'd be forced to use a bunch of scrubs who should not play in any important time.

Oh yeah - I'd love for the Astros to bring back those two. Or at least Hinch, who I think was just a great human being as well as manager. If the Astros DO win a WS, Baker should use it as an opportunity to retire on top.

In the regular season, his stats are barely better. Barely. In the playoffs, Fiers has been better.

Starting a guy with a 8.10 ERA in a playoff elimination game is pretty stupid, so why not?

Thing I love about Urquidy is he throws strikes. There wont' be two walks before a home run.

Good job battling back after the home run/double.
