I don't think he is choker. The issue is that for a playoff ace, the hope/expectation is that he can shut down the other team. That hasn't consistently been the case over the past few years. Today though he was money. That is all that matters.
I agree he hasn’t been lights out recently. I wasn’t talking about you specifically with the choker comments. Just the board in general.
No. His at bats today are infinitely better than anything against the Mariners. I think he breaks out of this in the next game or 2.
I get the feeling he's really close to breaking out. He's taking a lot more pitches today. He has a walk and that was a full count.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this in Altuve’s career. Maybe someone can verify. But sheesh man we need him to get going.
Seriously, that’s a big improvement. Gives me hope he might snap out of it at some point. He has looked so bad, anything positive is a bonus right now.
Good thing we’ve got so many other hitters or this would be like the Stros of the early 2000’s great pitching and ice cold hitting
Runs coming from very unlikely sources. Will Altuve snap out of it? I have never seen him in a slump like this.
It can change on a dime. Remember Springer during our 2017 run? He looked just as bad if not worse than Altuve did, and man did he catch fire. Hopefully the same thing happens to Tuve!
Beautiful back to back home runs. Makes up for the trimmed sorry with the bases loaded. But man.... Altuve is no bueno this post season. Plenty of time to turn it around and get hot.... But he looks lost out there.
