Not a damn thing we the fans or the national media say matters. This will be decided by the players in Minute Maid and Yankee stadiums. Let's get em boys.
Altuve will be fine. We have seen him slump before and we have seen him go on hot streaks before. Hot streak incoming for the 2022 alcs MVP.
Smart baseball people have been trying to shut Altuve down for 12 years. How has that worked. He has had 3 days to see what the Mariners did, understand it, and adjust. I think if the Yankees try to use that formula then Altuve has a huge series
At this point, Astros fans talk more about the media talking about the Astros cheating than the actual media does.
By this time...do they really think it's the pitching that got Altuve and not he, himself, was the issue? C'mon now....how long has he been in the league? He'll still own the yanks and show it this series...hopefully.
Yeah they try to pitch him one way he's going to make them pay. From what I remember against Seattle he was swinging at everything.
Would love to get on Tailion early and make life easier for JV. Hopefully JV has a nice bounce back game.
Completely agree...but none of those previous Houston based teams are this Houston based team. The 2015-now Astros have dispelled that "Houston is cursed" notion. This team doesn't talk s***. They don't have goofy helmets or giant chains in the dugout when someone hits a homerun. They hear the boos and they just smile. They have a quiet confidence about them that allows them to tune out the noise and continue to dominate despite it. Seriously. No one has figured out this simple plan before now? As if the career .307 hitter can't make adjustments?
Concerns for Astros 1. Rust? Is it real, will Altuve continue his struggle because of only 3 games in 15 days? Verlander? Was it just a fluke game or is it rust, tipping pitches? 2. Yankees come in hot playing last night, so bats are in full game mode. Players are used to getting on a plane and playing a game next day. That’s it, those are my concerns. We will find out real quick with Verlander, he looks sharp first inning and we are good. Altuve works an AB or lines out, great signs he’s seeing the ball and good things ahead.
When Altuve gets right, he hits that pitch. Altuve needs to stay in the zone and it will all work out.
