I believe what G. Waye Lukas is referring to is that, if the Astros are fortunate enough to make it to the WS, and lose to the Red Sox, it will be humiliating/painful for any Astros fan to have to watch endless reruns/clips/footage of the Red Sox ending their drought by doing it over the Astros for the next 50 year. It's like being a UH fan and having to watch Lorenzo Charles and Jimmy V. every spring.
I sure am glad that Francona did not listen to my suggestion of starting Dave Roberts over the Caveman for tonight's game.
Puhleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze yourself. Any NL team that allows the Sox to break the curse will be pummelled by the national press.
I understand that, but I think it is comical for a fan of a team that has NEVER made the world series to say that. But I could say the same thing, Sam. Assuming that the Red Sox and Astros both make it, how embarrassing would it be for me to see my team lose to a team that has never made it and see that over and over.
I told you weird things happen in game 7s. Johnny “I’m just an idiot” Damon. Six RIBs! Have fun with the World Series Manny! Go Astros!
Goooooooooo Carrrrrrrrds!!!!!!!! Goooooooooo Astros!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever win tomorrow's game, beat the Red Sox plssssssssss!!!! Brown and Javy are two pieces of useless sh*t!!! I have never been so mad!
Well I guess if that happens, you just need to turn the TV to something else or turn the TV off or skip reading over those articles.
Impossible. If the NLCS winner loses to the Red Sox, assuming they make the World Series, it would be the most unavoidable thing there'd ever be. The Red Sox winning it all would be HUGE in the media, and you'd be reminded about it constantly FOR-EV-ER FOR-EV-ER. Anyways, I LOVE how all the high price/supposed high talent pitchers the Yanks have gotten recently (Brown, Vazquez, Loaiza) have backfired on them and sucked when it counts the most. GO RED SOX! For one more game.
You probably could say the same thing. But a Red Sox WS win is a much, much bigger story nationally than an Astros WS win (should they be fortunate enough to make it, can't jinx them)
... And I was going to get tickets to Game 2 of the World Series if the Yankees won. I actually won tickets to the game tonight (from my company), but I gave them to some real Yankees fans (friends from work) instead as part of a trade for "future considerations." Glad I'm not there right now. Then again, it's not like I gained much by staying home and watching another Miceli Meltdown.
Bad pitching all year, now it comes back to bite us! Congrats to Rox fans although I still can't stand them.
