If the Red Sox somehow win this game, Francona needs to seriously think about starting Dave Roberts in CF for Game 6. Damon gets that bunt down, there is no double play.
Man....what a series!!! Even if the Sox lose tomorrow, I am very proud of the way they have played in these last 2 games. They are too good of a team to be swept, *ahem*, Hydra.
Regardless of what happens next (which in a way I can't wait to see), it has been a great series and I appreciate the friendly banter with you and I guess, *sigh* with RocketsPimp. I can't say that I wish the Yankees luck in the World Series, especially if they play the Cardinals, but they play the game the right way even if they are the Evil Empire.
The Red Sox are just teasing the Yankees going down 0-3. They will win the next two. They are the better team. Yank don't have a chance. Congrats Red Sox and Red Sox fans, you guys are going to the World Series. The curse is broken!
Get a blown save out of Rivera in consecutive games and have this lineup leave 18 runners on base, and the Sox won't get swept, but the Expos wouldn't get swept with that kind of luck. I think the Yanks still pull out the series, but I am getting a feeling like it will be decided by game 7 in the late innings, almost like that is the way it is meant to be. I do have to say that I thought Loaiza pitched well for 3 innings. I wish Torre had just brought Rivera in to start the 8th, since he used him for 6 outs anyway. He kinda pulled a Francona on that one (see Mendoza, Ramiro).
Well done. That's the most blatantly obvious attempt at reverse jinx I've seen in a while. The Boston Sports Guy would be proud.
We're just letting Boston fan build up the slightest bit of hope in their hearts only to have that heart ripped out and crushed at the hands of the all powerful New York Yankees. Bwaa-haaa-haaa-haaa-haaa.
The 'Stros jinx was broken 5 games ago when they downed their arch-nemesis, the Braves. I have absolute faith we'll be seeing my two favorite teams in the World Series with the hometown Astros bringing home the hardware.
I'm with Pimp... the ultimate matchup, houston vs. ny ten years after knicks/rockets, my dream rivalry will be realized go yankees, go astros
