The changes to the batter's eye were effective for the 2017 season, which is the start of Golden Era. Before this year, 2017 was the last time there was much talk about the batter's eye.
Batters eye didn’t hurt the Rangers last night. Just poor offense like having a near automatic out batting 9th.
Even during the season it didn't effect visiting teams. Was it McCormick who also said during the regular season it didn't bother him?
I can't wait to beat the Rangers tonight, shed the home field insecurity mind games once and for all, and move on to the World Series. Let's Do This! Go Stros!
Astros must take the early lead through the first 4 innings. We need some crooked numbers to get this Home Monkey off our backs. Let’s hope we get Sad Max tonight and crush him
This is it. One game stands between a chance at making history and elimination. "Game Seven, the two best words in sports!" People that believe that have no emotional investment. Broken hands, Oblique strains, banana pudding poisoning and curses. It's been a ruthless season but here we are, united as ever. We're from Houston, nothing is easy. Also, should the Rangers win, keep an Ambien handy.
Philly was the hottest team going into this postseason next to the Rangers and are not playing well right now against the Dbacks. Giving me hope for the Astros. Playoff baseball tings ya know
I feel fairly confident Stanek, Blanco and any 1 of our lesser starters would’ve been worse than Montero, who was very good last year and was better after the ASB. You still haven’t offered the “better” option. And remember, at the time, there was a chance they’d be without Abreu for game 7. Pressly wasn’t a factor.
I agree, he’s not the type to you want a team to see 3 times in a week on short rest. Eovaldi is that type of guy, Montgomery isn’t. Now if it were still the old rules, I could see them being him in for Yordan only.
I’m feeling nervous about this game. So maybe it’s good I just need to think about how to throw, choke, pin and try to break people’s arms for awhile.
No. I’ve actually watched about 160 of their games this year. Team needs offense. Two runs ain’t gonna do it. Maldy is part of that problem. Maybe he produces tonight.
Pressly and Montero were warming when the Astros were batting in the 8th. Once they blew that chance, Dusty needed to decide whether to save a few bullets or use them trying to win when down at least 2 in the 9th inning. He was right to pitch Montero and the runs he gave up were inconsequential for the most part. The game was over by the time he threw his first pitch.
They just came back from 2 down in the 9th the game before. That miserable game is over. It’s win or else tonight.
