I’m not going to state whether Abreu/Maldonado decided to hit Garcia or not. What I am going to say is that was a pivotal game 5 of the ALCS and neither the ump’s nor MLB should be inserting themselves into the result, period. If this was football or basketball, the expectation situationally would be “swallow the whistle”.
