The recent cubs core went to 3 straight NLCS and won a WS and yet I feel like they underachieved. Anything less than two titles is underachieving for both us an them.
I was highly confident in Giles ability to screw up. Garcia...not sure if we get the good or the bad version.
On one hand, we've hit Eovaldi pretty well in game 2 and lit his ass up in game 4. He's going on 2-3 days rest as well. On the other hand, Chris Sale looked Cy Young caliber through five in game 5.
Ha, I hear you man. I hope these "Adjustments" are true, but we'll see. **** I'm paying enough for a win .Hope so!
Fear not, ABC 13 has put me at ease. We can safely say ballgame over tonight! . But I really really hope we win. Astros' last four LCS Game 6s (* - series-clinching game) 2020 ALCS: 7-4 win vs. Tampa Bay Rays 2019 ALCS: 6-4 win vs. New York Yankees* 2017 ALCS: 7-1 win vs. New York Yankees 2005 NLCS: 5-1 win vs. St. Louis Cardinals* https://abc13.com/houston-astros-alcs-game-6-boston-red-sox/11154864/
That's a pretty random stat, but if anyone is interested the starting pitchers in those games games for the Astros for reference: * Framber Valdez * Brad Peacock (although Urquidy threw the most innings) * Justin Verlander * Roy Oswalt 2019 was a bullpen game but that "bullpen" was pretty good that year (Peacock, James, Pressly, Urquidy, Harris, Joe Smith, Osuna).
Overall, starters who pitched on their bullpen day have not fared that well this post season. It has worked at times in previous post seasons, so it could just be a high variance thing. Might also be related to the the shortened season in 2020, and every pitcher is just running on fumes at this point since they pitched so many more innings than the previous year. Hard to know with such small sample sizes.
Rumor has it the Astros are bringing in a rally nun from Shiner to throw out the first pitch tonight. May be a Shiner Bock night for luck. Edit: St. Arnold's also works. Nattie Light, Hell No.
