I find it humorous that Odorizzi had the gall to complain earlier in the year. That's like if Bostjan Nachbar demanded he get more shots.

Agree. Its the manner in which we lost that means something.

The game would have evolved differently. Red Sox would probably have managed their bullpen differently. Castro wouldn't have been in the game. Odorizzi may have pitched an extra inning. Schwarber sounds have stayed in the game.

Who knows? Without the second grand slam, Boston may have won 14-0. Astris may have won another 5-4 game.

At least the team showed some fight in the last few innings.
I will now read some Dostoyevsky to cheer myself up.

Didn’t Bregs disappear our last playoffs run? He really needs to get it going.

I dunno. I think the Earth's orbit may have changed without the 2nd slam.

Good thing THAT didnt happen. :D

I don't think they will run Garcia out there again, he's been trending downward. Like I said in the white sox thread, maybe a move to the pen even though he hasn't done it this year, if healthy....

Bregman as a power threat is clearly gone for the moment. He can still field well and has hit some in the playoffs, but he is suddenly league average, at best. The Astros are going to let Correa walk while they pay Bregman $30 million a year after two seasons of mediocre production. I hope he can get his soft tissue issues and training regimen under control in the off-season.

Counterpoint: Astros are going to **** the Red Sox up in Fenway and win 2 games there. This team is too resilient to let a bad performance from 2 shitty pitchers in one game tank their entire season.

It's weird what can happen when you're on the wrong side of an all-time record, eh?

Silver lining, Odorizzi was supposed to start game 4. By burning him here that avoids that disaster. Orbit in full gear with cement shoes can out-pitch Odorizzi at this point.

Smoltz said it in the game, in 1996 they smoked the Yankees 16-1 in 2 games and the rest is history with Braves losing the last 4. Yankees 1st for Derek Jeter and many to come. If they played a Sunday game, I think the Stros will lose. With a break, they can recover and restore, wipe it clean with the mind first to 3.

If Garcia is done then Odorizzi starts game 6 which would be a win or go home game or win to advance to the WS game.

    1.Bullpen has looked solid
    2. We scored 5 runs
    3. We have seen their bullpen, will help in later games.
    4. Screw the Red Sox.
