He really sucked this year... and needed to be better for the Texans to win. If he can't perform here, they need to find somebody who can. He plays one of the MOST important positions in the 3-4 defense.
yeah when he scrambles, or when he tries to scrambles, 99% of the time, the ball will end up in the sideline instead of a receiver....
i think it's a mistake for us to let go or give up on a player who's got a down season. Just like maybe we gave up on jacoby and holladay a bit too soon?
Got to give the Ravens props, they just aren't scared of the Pats at all. Starts with coaching right Nick?
So, what would have happened had the Texans somehow secured HFA throughout, and played the Ravens in divisional round at home? And would a loss there (equivalent to the Broncos losing at home to the Ravens) be a better or worse ending than the one that happened? To me, the Texans know they aren't as good as the Patriots... but they feel pretty confident against the Ravens and Broncos (hell, they likely beat the Ravens in last year's playoffs with better QB play). A loss this year to the Pats has everybody's eyes on improvements to be able to beat a team like that... a loss to the Ravens = IDK WTF to do.
Daniel Manning is a better returner than either of them... we just decided to hold him back for the playoffs.
I will say however that Wade Phillips is a overrated defensive coordinator. Ravens don't seem to be getting exposed/carved open this week.
Willing to bet the Texans would have pooped in their pants against the Ravens in this postseason also. We were in a slump and lotsa issues then the Bengals gave us a reprieve before the Pats showed us what a real playoff team looks like. Ravens would have done that also.

well it's kinda useless to wonder what if the texans secured hfa and played bal at home.... hfa aint no guarantee a W, just ask ATL and denver. When you run into a hot team in the playoff, what you did against them in the reg season dont mean much.
Flacco can't throw on the run, or run for many first downs. But the one or two he can run for sure are nice to have. He can move in the pocket well too. Those are the two things Matt needs to work on. Pocket movement and timing passes. Kubiak needs to work on unleashing his dragon as well.
we both know manning wont be the permanent returner next year... his play on the D will suffer and he aint getting any younger, not to mention he can be injury prone.
flacco is still better than schaub on the running/scrambling... flacco actually look for an open receiver, schaub just wanna run outta bound and throw the ball to the cheerleaders.
So would that have been better or worse than losing to the Pats? Also keep in mind, the Ravens loss would have been at home. I just don't see it... while it would have been a close game (like Ravens-Broncos), I see the Texans being able to do more of what they normally do against the Ravens, rather than against the Patriots.
