Disappointing second half, but I can't feel too bad about it. The Texans beat a decent San Francisco team. They're above .500. They're in second place. That's all that matters.
Kubiak: "DUH DUH DUH DUH, I'm proud of the guys for hanging in there. DUH DUH DUH DUH. Alex Smith really had a coming out party today, I think he has pro bowl potential. DUH DUH DUH. Excuse me guys, gotta go change my maxi pad. DUH DUH DUH!!!"
How would you grade Slaton today? Despite a few big plays, I don't think I can give him higher than a C+ or B-.
Yep agree, its just they sucked so much first half probably a little self confidence creeped in....Take this win but... AJ needs to be ok SS NEEDS TO STOP FUMBLING
Its too late! Plus we didn't e-Shake on it.. I'm glad they won.. It would have been pretty horrible if they came back form 21 down..
I would love to hear what Singletary said to those guys at halftime. Even though Smith was solid, Singletary made the decision to put him in on top of whatever motivation he provided. If they pulled off the comeback, Singletary may have been the reason for it.
Not liking what I am hearing...from KJ's Twitter KJ1560 andre johson taken to hospital (lungs) @ least thats what i was told
What we saw in the last 2 minutes of the 1st half and throughout the 2nd half was a classic case of the texans letting their guard down when playing with a lead, that will not cut it against other teams. all that said, game ball goes to the sun with one forced fumble. That's like 27 million degrees of awesomeness.
Getting torn up by Alex Smith is likely a result of not gameplanning against a 49ers offense that spread the field and threw the ball a lot (because, save for the 2nd half of this game, they haven't played like that all year). Still, we should have been able to adjust and get some pressure on that tiny-handed fumble machine. The defense played conservatively in the 2nd half, just trying to protect the lead, which i think is precisely what allowed smith to get in a comfort zone. Still, win is a win is a win is a win.
Schaub: B+ Daniels: A+ Johnson: B+ (only 2 catches but a huge one when we needed it bad) Slaton: B- Defense in the 1st half: A+ Defense in the 2nd half: D
Don't think they ever really showed how he got hurt. It wasn't even during a play for him just showed him on the ground then on the sidelines. It went from having his wind knocked out to being taken to a hospital(Lungs).
Great win - dominated them when they played their hard nose run first philosophy and they only gained momentum after desperately putting in their 2nd string quarterback and running spread sets that the Texans and the 49er's didn't anticipate using. Every 49er tried to strip Slaton on contact, he needs to get used to that real fast.
