The rockets are still on pace to win over the projected win total 31.5. They’re pretty much right around where they should be. Winning probably just over that. There’s significant progress with guys like sengun/bari. These are the things you want to see this season.
Most had us going 5-20 the first 25. I now have us going 11-14. We should all be thrilled. We will be in the hunt for the play-in, more if we improve at back-up center and get a sharp shooter for the bench.
17 wins, 20 wins past 2 seasons, respectively.... may win 37 games and double the past 2 seasons in wins.
I’m very happy about how things have gone so far. Our coaching staff appears to be really good. The effort (most nights) has been there. Dillon and Fred have been very good. Bari is shooting better and making progress, Al P is taking that next step to stardom, Tari steadily improving. And while Jalen isn’t where I hoped he’d be from a consistency standpoint, he is learning a new style of team-oriented basketball, and he’s shooting and defending better. if we can stay around 500 that will be amazing.
Looks like dumping half of last year’s roster wasn’t the complete failure in strategy lots of people here thought it would be. KPJ, KMJ, TyTy, Nix, Garry Bird, Bruno, Josh C, Garuba... and Silas. All gone.
Surprise surprise, a bad team had lots of bad players and replacing them with competent ones makes us a better team
PJ will be 39 at the end of this season. Something tells me he's managed to bleed that Corner3&D reputation dry at this point. I loved having the guy on our team (usually), but at this point he's really near the end of the road. But hey, the guy took a foreign-ball career and somehow turned it into $70M of NBA money. That's a rare feat. And speaking of feet, let's hoping he didn't blow most of that money on sneakers that won't appreciate in value.
Same here. Nothing but respect for what he's been able to accomplish at the sport's highest level. But there's a Laz-Y-Boy in the very near future for PJ.
Rockets have been able to beat quality teams: Lakers, Nuggets, Kings, Pels, OKC. They have had a difficult schedule to start the season and they are hanging tough at .500, and in the play-in conversation at this point - I think everybody would consider that a successful progression.
After the first few losses there was fear we'd lose 20 in a row. Sitting where we are is pretty good in my book.
Every player has grown in some facet or the other and we are tending towards a play-in level record, which is just amazing for this being our first "real year trying to win games" since the rebuild started. I thought 30-35win would be a good season but it seems i would be disappointed in that now and expect 37-42 wins
Shout-out to Jabari snagging 18 rebounds. I'm really impressed with the strides he's made. He's gone from 40.8 to 50.5 FG% and 30.7 to 36.6 3PT% from last year.
His development has been great and he's only taking 1 fewer shot per game vs last season. I think we can get him up to being a highly efficient 15ppg+ scorer by the end of the season. There was a risk when drafted his 2PT% was unsalvageable but he's looked poised with his choices recently. Defense will improve just with experience and reps in this system. I think he'll finish the season closer to 38% from 3PT range, he just had a rough start to the season. Building an amazing player for this team.
