All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 4-20 Justin Verlander (R) vs. James Shields 7:10 4-21 Dallas Keuchel (L) vs. Lucas Giolito (R) 6:10 (ATTSW Alternate) 4-22 Lance McCullers Jr. (R) vs. Reynaldo Lopez (R) 1:10
Earlier today ESPN said Giolito...I was looking at probably starters for my fantasy team and he was who was listed, and he was also listed on the preview for tonight's game. I was chuckling at the difference between his and Verlander's stats. I wonder if that was an ESPN error or if there was a change in the rotation?
They played a crazy 14 inning game Wednesday, they ran out of pitchers and Shields pitched the 14th. They didn't announce whether he or Giolito was starting until today.
Stros played subpar up there last season. Abreu hit JV hard in their lone game vs each other. Let's get JV the win. Can't keep squandering games if he's gonna get to 25 -- becoming the first pitcher in nearly 30 years.
Abreau has hit Verlander hard his entire career: 1.361 OPS over 35 ABs; Reddick has knocked Shields around almost as well.
Abreu is spelled, Abreu. Seemed weird hearing 790 say they'd only faced once, being divisional opponents for a few seasons. They were probably speaking on another Sox. JV25
Verlander was a question/answer on jeopardy today. Altuve was a question in February. Astros have jumped the intellectual shark... a couple of times now!
Did anybody really expect anything else from Fisher? We may as well be back in the NL trying to score with only 8 hitters. Hell at the least the pitchers laid down a bunt on occasion.
