Yep. Looked it up. I believe it was his Cinny days I was remembering there in the mid and late 90s back in the ole NL central
Servais. He was one of their catchers for 5 years or so in the early 90's. eta: didn't know this about him: Servais was held in high regard around baseball for his work transforming the Rangers' Minor League system in his six years as director of player development from 2006-11. One of his prize pupils was Nelson Cruz, whom Servais helped reconstruct his swing in 2008 after Cruz was waived and then brought back on a Minor League deal at age 27. Cruz returned to the Majors later that season, earned the first of his four All-Star berths the next year and has since become one of baseball's top sluggers. He played for the Cubs, not Cincy, after the left the Stros. I'd never paid any attention to it, but I think I kind of like it. In a micro sense, you could tell if a guy is going through a stretch where he's making good contact but just getting unlucky, or if he's really in a slump. eta: Stros putting up a crooked number! Bats came alive this inning!
Also saw that the Red Sox have already hit 4 GSs this year. They had a grand total of 0 all last season.
