There is a reason they kept him around with all the injuries. 6'3'' 215lb....4.49 speed. The injury he had in 2015 was Major to his knee. Last season, he started to play...but the ole' soft tissue injury (hamstring)...which was predictable after coming back from that knee. Texans didnt have time for him to heal because of injuries in the secondary, so they put him on IR. He should be healthy for OTAs and Training Camp. Big year for him.
You've got Hal, Moore, and Pleasant as your starting safety rotation as of now. Lonnie has never seen the field and I doubt he comes out of camp for the Texans. I don't see much in Drummond, but it isn't like he's seen the field since 2015. Dillon is interesting since this will be his rookie year, but it wasn't like he was highly thought of out of college, more of a depth guy at this point in time. Decoud is interesting and has the size the Texans have been hoping for at the position. Maybe he'll be a guy that actually stays healthy and develops. Doesn't have the speed most would like for him to play CB, but his length is crazy and that makes up for quite a bit. He likens himself to Sherman, would be nice to have a guy with that kind of intensity back there.

Ouch! SOURCES TELL US "Other than his size, it's hard for me to find strengths. But when you look around the league at center play, size matters and it plays." -- Regional scout for NFC team http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/kyle-fuller?id=2557916
You definitely cannot expect anything out of ballentine. I am pretty worried about the safety position. Hal is a quality starter, but outside of that......nobody imo. I think you almost have to start Kareem out there, but there is also a total lack of depth at DB after letting buoye go. Granted the only thing rick smith seems to be able to do is find undrafted DBs, there are still a ton of hole in the secondary for me.
Sounds like a lot of hedging on this write up. I think the kid has potential. @sammy Anything you can tell us?
Why on earth did we draft a center? We drafted a center 2nd round last year. I thought we needed more offensive linemen. There were a few rated above him too. I am baffled on this pick.
