I don't understand how anyone could say we didn't need to address linebacker. Have you watched this team get killed by running backs out of the backfield putting McKinney and Cushing in the dust?
I'm good with the LB pick, but Savage, Watson, and Weeden might need to update their wills since the Texans STILL haven't addressed the fact that they have no starting RT on the team.
While I agree, I think it was pat who said the Texans see one of their guys internally that they signed last year as a starting tackle potentially, the same way kubiak once saw Derek newton that way while he sat on the bench.
We did need a LB just not at that pick. We have 2 empty slots in the secondary. A Cushing replacement could have been taken later. Fans will be crying about our secondary getting torched by week 6. Not mad at the pick just don't think it was great.
Well if that ends up working out, I'll feel a lot better about it. I just hope that's not people blowing smoke.
Hey I'm with you. They have issues in the secondary. Can't help it if they didn't like any of the guys on the board. Just don't say that linebacker wasn't a need though because it absolutely was.

Not really though. Dre Hal is one safety and the other is probably going to be KJ Dillon who they picked up last season. As to CB, they have the same top 3 CB's they had last season.
In the end, we won't be doing ourselves any favors if we take guys at positions of need just to take them. Remember DJ Swearinger and Brennan Williams? I'm sure safety and OT were a need in that draft too. As opposed to drafting Kevin Johnson even though we already had Jonathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson. Somehow need crops up when you least expect it. You draft the player you are most certain will make an impact.
