Super crazy if Harden wins player MVP again while losing media voted MVP.

When the Rocket's win it all this year, would love for Houston to literally ignore the hell out of ESPN. No interviews, no documentaries, no photos, nada.

I hope Harden makes em pay .. just like when they gave it to David Robinson instead of Hakeem in 95

Arnovitz leaning Harden four days ago, now Kawhi.

With all due respect to Kawhi, that's almost like a cop out. It should be a two man race (IMO anyways). "I can't decide between Harden & Russ so ... Kawhi! Kawhi is my MVP."

Did Israel lose his vote @samtaylor? He had a vote last year.

Honestly, this was one of my first thoughts about that as well.

Israel revealed on Around the Horn recently that the NBA took his vote away along with lots of ESPN people, so that one organization doesn't have too many votes. I'm not sure who the other casualties are.

Chris B Hayes also said this.

So, I saw that there are like 27 ESPN writers. If there are 100 votes that is almost 30% of the voting pool from ESPN. ESPN Echo Chamber in full effect

Close thread. No point just getting people angry further. Dumb voters.

Players are voting for Westbrook 100%. I hear current players backing up WB way more often.

This is worse logic than "He's averaging a triple double!"

Zach Lowe appeared to have pulled the same move. I really was think they would go harden/kawhi/wb and that was gonna be were harden could make up ground but it's over.

Whatever. Here's to hoping for an amazing postseason run.

Like I said, it will be a blowout. Russ will win the players MVP as well.

A bunch of ESPN folk picked Joel Embiid as the rookie of the year.
A guy who was "really" in his third year in/around the NBA, and then only played 31 games, and 25 mpg.
I mean is teammate had almost double the points (like 66% more), more than double the rebounds, almost triple the assists, more than double the steals, etc.
Not that Saric is a better player - I get the Embiid impact - but a vote for him for rookie of the year is about as idiotic as it gets.

So pretty much, the voters, who cover many sports other than basketball, will always go with that's trending. The more popular personalities are also more likely to receive backlash if they were to choose differently. Yet, the lesser known, who are basketball junkies and actually watch the games, vote differently.

How many games do you think these voters actually watch? Like, Wilbon, for example, do you think he actually goes home after work and watches a full NBA game? Please.
