The GOP whip team, led by Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), was trying to gauge whether House Republicans would be able to pass a one-year boost of the debt ceiling, alongside a one-year delay of Obamacare and other conservative policies.

But there was opposition from some corners of the GOP conference. Some Republicans said the debt-ceiling package, which is not yet final, doesn’t do enough to slow the growth of debt or fails to provide hard limits on how much the federal government can borrow through 2014.

And now they've delayed the weekend vote on their own bill, presumably because they can't even find enough votes for that. The House GOP is completely dysfunctional at this point.

 

latest poll puts house GOP approval at 9%...versus 72% disapproval.

The Bush/Cheney faction is not the faction that is currently causing problems. The tea party/hardcore right wing is the section that is destroying everything. They hate the Bush wing of the party.
