May-Treanor/Walsh game was AWESOME! The Russian diva has a legit death stare. She looks a mega b****. I feel bad for the other one. She did horrible yesterday. Poor girl. So glad for Aly! She is great when she's under pressure. Pearson, just wow! I'm curious at the twitter about Lolo Jones. Why the hate? Off to Google! I LOVE the olympics and going to be bummed when it's over.
You will see what Korea went through against Brazil. Two PKs not called in crucial times of the match. 1-0 Brazil leading Korea should've had a PK. Blatant foul inside the box with no play at the ball. The match would've developed much differently. Just hand Brazil the Gold. Honduras should've beat Brazil too if it weren't for the freebie PK. Anyway, you will see. It's been going on all tournament. Brazil will beat Mexico with the help of refs.
oh yeah...here you go. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/olymp...mits-taking-illegal-kicks-162450535--oly.html
They are not the same teams. Brazil is fielding its under-23 entire team, while Mexico has some veterans. In Brazil 2014, Mexico (barring not qualifying) will field all veterans, and some of these Brazilian youngsters like Neymar will be in their team.
Sure. I dun goofed! I should have said "mostly", instead... but... again, they will not be the same teams in 2014 facing each other "again", so the gap of skill might even stretch more the way of the Brasileiros. I will concede that they are better than Mexico.
Every other U-23 squad only has 3 players over the age of 23 as well right? Consequences will never be the same.
Was kinda of thinking about this last night...who was the REAL star of the women's team in these Olympics? I know Gabby won all-around Gold and peaked when the team needed her (great performance in qualifying, team and individual all-around) but she faltered in the individual events she competed. I don't think it should take away from her all-around as she definitely earned it, but whether she had a bad day or lost focus, fact is she wasn't good on beam and high bar. But Aly was so consistent throughout the whole Olympics. She won three medals and lost out on a tiebreak for a fourth. And her only slip up, combined with that tiebreak, barely cost her a medal in the all-around. She was the team captain and I think it definitely showed as she had one solid performance after another. And probably my favorite shot of the whole competition was the end of her floor routine during the team all-around in which they caught her reaction in slow motion. Nothing against Gabby, but I think Aly is deserving of just as much praise and attention, at the very least.
NBC is definitely gunning to make Gabby Douglas a superstar based on it's coverage of her so far. Gabby Douglas is the Jeremy Lin of gymnastics.
Taiwan just got robbed in the quarterfinal men Taekwondo. That kick totally did not connect to his head.
Is it just me thinking it or does Aly Raisman have a bit of a mustache? (Not that it is a big deal, but if folks are gonna talk about Gabby D's hair...)
