holy ****! did you see that Japanese girl for balance beam? even though the Chinese girls look young, but they seem to be about the same height as the others. but the Japanese girl is like half foot shorter than Shawn and she looks like she is 9 for real!
it's not like she's going to say that in the interview, though. i mean she did the best, you have to clear the hurdles. plus, maybe she thought it would be tacky to point out Lo Lo falling since she knows everyone saw it. man, so our best person falls, and our 3rd best person was .01 from getting a bronze. all we get is a gold when we had a chance at 1/2/3.
I know but she could have said something like things just went my way but oh well, you're right the job is to clear the hurdles and Lolo didn't do that.
they'd be lucky if i could even string a sentence together on national tv after winning a surprise gold, much less say the right thing. that adrenaline rush must be crazy. still feeling bad for jones. knowing you're the best but just happened to mess up something you've done a million times correctly at the worst moment.
balance beam has to be the hardest event in the Olympics. I can't believe someone could even think up such a crazy event.

Shawn Johnson with a very nice routine. Like somebody said a few posts ago, it's amazing what these girls can d on a 2x4.
I hope Shawn wins this one. I'd like for her to get an individual gold, but wouldnt mind if she got a silver. it's cool if we finish 1-2.
